A little Creative Cupboard update ❤️

I know some of you have been wondering when registration will open for September classes, Art Club, paint parties, singing and everything else I usually have bubbling away behind the scenes.

Unfortunately, I need to put The Creative Cupboard on pause for a while for medical reasons.

I had so many plans for the fall, and this certainly wasn’t one of them. I don’t know yet how long I’ll need to step away for. I’m very hopeful it won’t be too long, but right now I need to give myself the time and space to focus on my health without putting a date on when I’ll be ready to come back.

So for now, I won’t be opening registration for September programs or taking bookings for paint parties and workshops.

It feels very strange writing that.

The Creative Cupboard has grown into something so special to me, and so much of that is because of all of you. Thank you for signing your kids up term after term, coming to workshops, booking paint parties, telling your friends about what I do, showing up to performances, making art with me, singing with me, and trusting me with your children and their creativity.

I’ve genuinely adored making music and art alongside you and your kids, and watching this little creative community grow has been one of the loveliest parts of my life over the past few years.

This isn’t goodbye. I’m just putting things down for a little while.

I’ll share another update when I know more about what the next chapter for The Creative Cupboard looks like.

Until then, thank you so much for all the support you’ve given me and this little business of mine. It has meant more to me than you probably know. ❤️

I’ve been thinking about our last songbirds and sing squad showcase.

Watching the kids who’ve been coming for a while just get up on the museum stage and sing their hearts out.

Singing builds confidence in a way that’s almost invisible while it’s happening. And then one day it’s just... there.

That comfy confidence is what I want for everyone who comes to sing with me in Pemberton.

Singing Circle starts Thursday 🎶

Last call before we begin!

Singing Circle is a four-week group for adults who love music, can generally sing in tune, and want to sing with others without performance pressure.

We’ll warm up well, learn parts, explore harmony, and sing pop songs. If you’ve been wanting something musical and fun to look forward to at the end of your week, this is likely for you.

Thursdays 7–8:30 PM

It’s a short pilot, so it’s a four-week commitment. Missing more than one session makes it hard for the group to stay connected musically.

We are piloting an Adult Singing Circle in Pemberton! A four-week singing group for people who love music, can generally sing in tune, and want to sing with others without the pressure of performance.

This isn’t a choir.
There’s no audition, no spotlight, and no expectation to be polished or perfect.

Each week we’ll warm up together, learn parts, explore harmony, and spend most of our time singing. The aim is to enjoy the process and work toward one song that feels good and sounds good by the end of four weeks together.

This might be for you if:
• you’ve always wanted to sing in a group but never found the right setting
• you enjoy learning and taking gentle direction
• you’d love something musical and grounding to look forward to each week

Because this is a short pilot, it’s designed as a four-week commitment. Drop-ins won’t work for this one, as missing more than one session makes it hard for the group to stay connected musically.

It’s been a full weekend of watercolour and mixed media painting 🌸

Starting Friday night with a floral painting workshop in their beautiful new events room, then continued the same theme into Art Club on Saturday morning 💖

I really love running these kinds of sessions. Sitting down with people, slowing things down, working with colour and detail, that hush falling over the otherwise chatty room when everyone gets in flow. Flowers are a pretty good subject for that!

If you’re new here, is a small group that meets in my home studio on Saturday mornings. We work through themes and techniques together and build a steady creative practice. Wondering who might be interested in a grown-up singing group in Pemberton? 🎤 🎶

Nothing performative and no auditions. Just adults gathering weekly until spring break to sing together.

A relaxed, informal Thursday evening gathering. No expectation to be an amazing vocalist, but being able to generally match pitch would help with harmonies.

If this makes your ears perk up, feel free to comment or message me and I’ll share a bit more once I’ve got all the details ironed out.

Registration is open!! 🎉
Songbirds (Tuesdays , walkover after school at 3pm or at 4:45pm) and Sing Squad (teens & tweens, Thursdays 4pm).

These are weekly singing groups where kids learn how to use their voices properly, sing together, and build confidence over time. There’s no rushing, no pressure to solo before they’re ready, and lots of encouragement along the way.

Last term we doubled our singers, and watching them grow in confidence and perform at the museum together was really special.
