We are stoked to return to this festival for our first time since it moved to Millet, Alberta. There is so many of our friends and family that are going to be there and that has us freaking pumped!!
Really though, our very own family team member Cyn, ripping it up with Anomalyptic... WOOOOO. Annnd the long time LAH veterans in Black Friday. Plus our lovely and amazing family in Famous Strangers Band. Then add in some of our international family with The Convalescence and Squidhammer. Yeah to say we are excited is an understatement. Not to mention a ton of bands we have worked with for our fundraisers. And the Prairie Fire Productions Ltd. family will be there, they are okay-ish we guess haha

People often ask me if I'll ever go on one of the Got Talent shows. I've never talked about this publicly before, but I actually did a stage performance in full demon makeup with blowtorches and fire bubbles for America's Got Talent Extreme. They flew my wife and I down to Atlanta, Georgia for it and we spent a couple of weeks on set.

Then, escape artist Jonathan Goodwin got paralyzed in a horrific accident. TMZ released the video. Production shut down. And what eventually aired ended up being an abbreviated version of the season. My audition performance was cut entirely. (Which can always happen for many reasons when you film for TV. They don't have to tell you why.)

While my wife and I didn't witness the accident in person, we watched a rehearsal and talked with Jonathan in the shuttle and waiting area etc a few times. Seeing a consummate professional like him who cared so much about safety get so badly hurt affected us deeply. He speaks about the accident and the impact it's had on his life, so you can and should go hear his story directly from him.

As distressing as the overall experience was, the best part was meeting other circus and escape performers I admire and respect. Including spending some fire jam time with my friend Jack Catalyud, and meeting fellow Canadian Daniel Paulin aka Danny Zzzz.

Oh and I did meet Terry Crews.

I've also gone through a good part of the process with Britain's Got Talent twice at their request. So far it hasn't worked out. But you never know.

If nothing else, my Extreme experience showed me why safety when doing stunts is crucial, and that even the best can still get hurt.

I would like to talk to you and clear the air. I will NOT be appearing at Trump’s Great American State Fair this year.

Negotiations to have me join the "breathtaking fireworks finale" broke down when the organizers insisted my open flames stay confined to my torches and NOT include the highly flammable infrastructure itself "like when Canada burned down the White House in the War of 1812."

Despite my generous offer to demonstrate this important moment in American history for the nation's 250th anniversary, the organizers refused to respect my artistic vision. (See artist's rendering below.)

I had no choice but to turn down the gig due to creative differences.

I know my US and Canadian fans will be disappointed I won't be able to set any authoritarian propaganda (or authoritarians) on fire live on stage. But the organizers said they were only ok with it if I burned a pile of books.

Last fall when I was interviewed by Town & Country News and CBC about my extreme fire eating vids going viral, Jesse Boily Photography got this great shot of me putting a burning metal torch in my nose...and then cutting the metal in half with my cutting torch. I have this incredible print as a souvenir. Thanks again Jesse, I appreciate your talent and your way of seeing things.

I've been quiet about fire for a while on my socials while I've been doing a lot of welding work overtime the past couple months making extra cash. But I'll be home soon and I can't wait to start playing with fire again to do some filming and get ready for summer workshops and performances.
