a short bio to introduce our guest speakers...
Waldie & Sharon are in their 51st year of marriage and have experienced their share of challenges that come with growing a godly relationship. Coming from two different countries, two different backgrounds and different family dynamics, they were challenged to become one and to build a relationship under God’s guidance with His principles. The many ups and downs they faced, loss of a home to a fire, health issues & financial challenges, major moves from Canada to the States and then back to Canada (teaching for close to three decades at PRBI), exposed areas in their story that needed addressing. They were challenged to become authentic as to what was really going on in their heart, directing the way they related, impacting their relationship. Being blessed with four beautiful children stretched them to learn to pull together, to still date and value each other as the person God created in His image.
Sharon started teaching Family Studies over twenty years ago that challenged them as a couple to go deeper in their story which directly impacted their relationship with God, and each other. Their own growth along with Family Studies, sparked a passion within them to see other couples discover the uniqueness of their own stories. Since then, they have developed and taught numerous workshops on marriage and family dynamics. They seek to encourage couples to explore how their past shaped the way they learned to relate and where they need the power of the gospel to transform their individual lives as well as their marriages in order to enjoy the richness of intimacy that God has intended for couples to experience.
