In September, the Paris Concert Series (formerly DT Concert Series) and the Noisemaker Team lost a valued team member and amazing friend. Paul has been the sound tech at our concerts since 2018, and many of you got to know him over the years. We have worked with Paul on over 100 events together, including Paris Drinks Fest and countless other Noisemaker shows around Ontario.
Paul truly loved his job and took it seriously. More than that, he was always a pleasure to be around, liked to have fun, and knew how to find a moment for some loud mischief or a quiet conversation between moments of amazing music. Paul was part of our family, and we will miss his passion, his laugh, his charm, his kindness, and his enthusiasm for music.
Since 2019, Paul was also an Audio Production Technologist and Professor in the Music Industry Arts program at Fanshawe College, where he loved his job teaching and helping students. Fanshawe and Paul’s family are honouring his memory with the establishment of an undergraduate student award for deserving students within the MIA program who demonstrate solid work ethic, strength of character and leadership potential. The goal of raising $10,000 has already been exceeded, but we are hoping to raise more funds to be distributed over subsequent years to qualified students who are facing financial barriers while pursuing post-secondary education in the Music Industry Arts program at Fanshawe.
