This installation is rooted in a process of elemental collaboration—a deliberate meeting of earth, sun, fire, and water. By combining fired clay, sun-prints, steamed eco-prints, and molten encaustic wax, I explore how disparate elements can be bound together to create something of beautiful resilience. These works mirror the way diverse histories and materials sustain and preserve one another—each three-inch tile a singular cell within a larger social organism. It is a visual testament to the fact that our greatest strength lies in our ability to support one another and coexist as different but united seeds of the same garden.

SMACK depicts a drifting group of jellyfish, their forms suspended within multiple layers of translucent encaustic. The title refers both to the collective noun for jellyfish but also identifies the central tension in the painting: light as both illumination and force. The jellies appear buoyant , yet burdened , carried and pressed upon by the light. The use of complementary colours is integral to this duality. Cool, translucent blues suggest depth ,suspension and current while the orbs of coral and pink introduce elements of vibration and visual tension. Their contract heightens visibility but also creates optical strain. visibility but Illumination can overwhelm as much as it reveals . The light here does not soothe , it weighs upon the orbs making their fragility palpable.
