Did a little dash down to Montreal to MUTEK Montréal to see Fennesz revisit the glorious Endless Summer record.
Was in the excellent company of David Jackson , pjromps and the international man of mystery DAG/Geddes for this little getaway. .
What a city Montreal is eh? The best.
Finished the night with a little porch listen to this golden oldie I got last week from Andrew Rodger in his beauty little record shop in Arnprior.

Old Kay Rhythmer into Space Echo. Sometime when I don’t play with a drummer I like to have a couple of beats to mix things up.
When I saw Dolly Parton, she used a drum machine and said “ you can laugh at my drum machine but it saves me $2500 a week”.
She also a very funny sax solo gag as she played the Benny Hill theme.

The final “Neighborhoods” show will be in a completely different town on Thursday, August 27th.
Heading up the 417 to Mallard’s Milk Bar in Arnprior and Andrew Rodger is joining the bill.

In this short story, the character drives into the city to see friends play some music at the Henry Arlington only to arrive after they’ve finished. A quick chat with old friends Draves and Jake and an Irish goodbye later, he was back on the road heading home. Upon arriving at home, the character (let’s call him Jim) goes into his small studio and puts masking tape on two octaves of the piano and sits and plays this little improv thing consisting of very few chords (it’s in C # or Db if you’re feeling sad).
Sleep well, tmrw is Friday and you will need your strength to party on.

I know all about the craze of the rubber bridge guitars and had a harmony with a rubber block that decided it had held string tension for long enough and the neck enforcement gave way. Fast forward to today & here’s an another old Harmony that I’m trying a simpler approach on.
Neighbor Matt gave me this old scooter inner tube and I got me a pair of scissors and now we got ourselves a contemporary sounding old guitar ready for a new adventure. Teaching old dogs new tricks I guess.

Super beautiful concert by last night at the .cna. Was treated by and to the show and an amazing dinner at .ottawa prior to.
Nice for this townie to get a little culture every now and then. Southam Hall is an absolute treasure to have in our city. No offence Massey Hall, but this is my jam ❤️
