Luv2Groove (L2G) gets thousands of students moving and grooving every year ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 12! L2G continues to maintain a high level of educational dance workshops and dance units led by Ottawa’s most qualified dance instructors and teachers. Program director and founder, Julia Gutsik has over 20 years of dance training and holds a BA in dance and a B.Ed in Education. She has p
erformed professionally and taught all over the world including Canada’s Arctic and is an occasional teacher with the OCDSB. Since 2004, Luv2Groove has been educating teachers and students about hip hop culture and dance. L2G has taught in over 150 schools across Ontario, including the Upper Canada School Board, Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, Ottawa Catholic School Board, University of Ottawa Education Program, Ottawa-Carleton Elementary Teacher's Federation, Ottawa Inuit Children’s Center, Girl Guides Canada, City of Ottawa, and for the Children's Village of Ottawa-Carleton. Each workshop is designed to address the Ontario Arts Curriculum and the Quebec Education Program. All Luv2Groove Dance Education Workshops & Units:
• address the elementary and the secondary curriculum expectations (NEW Dance and Physical Education; grades 1-12)
• educate students about dance through empowerment and self expression
• provide handouts, assessment tools, next steps, accommodations and suggestions for performances and/or concerts
• are led by qualified educators or professional instructors/dancers
