The last total eclipse was just a month ago, on August 2. Did you see it? Did you see Audrey II ... ?

From movie to musical ... back to movie again! Little Shop of Horrors has an eventful history, eh?

The musical is based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors. The music, composed by Menken in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several well-known tunes, including the title song, "Skid Row (Downtown)," "Somewhere That's Green," and "Suddenly, Seymour."

The musical premiered Off-Off-Broadway in 1982 before moving to the Orpheum Theatre Off-Broadway, where it had a five-year run. It later received numerous productions in the U.S. and abroad, and a subsequent Broadway production. The musical was also made into a 1986 film of the same name, directed by Frank Oz.

There was only one returning cast member from stage to screen in Little Shop of Horrors!

Ellen Greene reprised her Off-Broadway role as Audrey in the 1986 movie, making her the only original stage cast member to make the jump to the film. Her iconic blonde wig was her own choice to help visualize the character

We're looking for folks interested in joining the Oshawa Little Theatre Board of Directors!

Our annual AGM is Tuesday November 17th at 7pm at 62 Russet Avenue.

This year the following 2-year term positions are being elected:

Vice President
Treasurer
Secretary
Director of Education
Director of Members, Patrons, and Volunteers.

Nomination forms and position descriptions are available on the OLT website.

In order to vote at this years' AGM, you must have an active OLT membership prior to September 18th.
