Summer is made for creating, exploring, and making a little bit of a mess!

We have so many fun art projects planned all summer long! There are still a few spots available in some of our camps, and waitlists are open for all of our sold-out camps.

Our full summer Open Studio calendar is also online and ready to book! Weekend availability is limited, so if you’re hoping to visit on a Sunday, we recommend reserving your spot in advance. While weekends don’t usually sell out, we do occasionally cancel an Open Studio if no one has registered ahead of time. Sometimes it looks like there’s lots of availability because everyone is planning to walk in, but without advance registrations we can’t always tell if anyone is coming.

We hope you’ll make art part of your family’s summer. Whether it’s a camp, an Open Studio visit, or simply creating together at home, creativity has a wonderful way of slowing us down, bringing us together, and making summer memories that last long after the season ends.

Baby class update!

Our Baby & Me Sensory Play class sold out for September so quickly! We recently ran a poll to see how we could better accommodate more families this fall, and based on your feedback we’ve made a few changes to our schedule.

Last year many families requested a morning Baby Picasso, and it was incredibly popular throughout the year. As we head into September with so many new babies joining our community, it looks like there’s a greater need for an afternoon Baby Picasso and morning Baby & Me classes.

Here’s our new fall schedule:

Monday • 1:00 pm – Baby Picasso
Perfect for babies on the move through about 18 months. (If your baby is sitting independently, over 6 months, and this time works best for your family, we’re often happy to make an exception.)

Thursday • 10:30 am & 1:30 pm – Baby & Me Sensory Play
Designed for babies approximately 3 months through crawling. If your little one is younger than 3 months but you’re ready to get out of the house, meet other parents, and begin your sensory play and early literacy journey a little early, we’d love to welcome you too!

If there’s enough interest in bringing back a Tuesday morning Baby Picasso (around 10:30 or 11:00 am), I do have room in the schedule. If that’s something you’d love to see, let me know in the comments!

Every September brings a whole new group of little ones with different routines, naps, and schedules. We do our best to create a timetable that works for as many families as possible, and your feedback truly helps us make those decisions. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Join us this summer for our Art FUNdamentals mini camp for ages 7-11 9am to 1pm (see website for dates and details) or register for our September session for the same age on Wednesdays 5:30-7pm (use EARLYBIRD for a small discount!). Create club for ages 5-10 is also live!

Fall registration is now open for our core programs!

At Heartworks, we believe that art is about so much more than the finished project. It’s about creativity, confidence, problem-solving, self-expression, connection, and community. Whether you’re joining us for Baby & Me, Baby Picasso, Mini Monet, Create Club, or Art FUNdamentals, our programs are designed to nurture creativity while creating meaningful opportunities for children and families to connect.

Many of our families have been with us for years, and one of the things I’m most proud of is the community that has grown within these walls. Friendships are formed, milestones are celebrated, and children are given the freedom to explore, create, and be themselves.

After nearly three years of holding our pricing steady, we will be making a small adjustment to program fees this fall. The cost of rent, utilities, supplies, insurance, and just about everything else has increased significantly, and while I’ve worked hard to absorb those costs for as long as possible, a small increase has become necessary.

Most programs have increased by just $5–$10 per session, which works out to roughly $1–$2 per week in many cases.

A few additional updates:
• Birthday party pricing will be increasing in the coming weeks. If you’re thinking about booking a party, now is a great time to reserve your date and lock in current pricing.
• Open Studio pricing will remain unchanged until January 2027, and any future increase will be very minimal.

Today was our last baby make-up class until September, marking the end of another year of our core classes.

June always feels a bit like year end around the studio, while September feels like a fresh start. So many families join us in the fall and stay throughout the year, and I have the privilege of watching your babies grow and change right before my eyes.

Baby class is so much more than a class. It’s a space that nurtures connection between parent and baby while also creating opportunities for friendships and support between parents.

I genuinely love hearing about your babies’ milestones, your challenges, and your wins in motherhood. I love creating a sensory-rich environment where your baby can explore, learn, and grow. We celebrate it all, the first time your baby sits independently, rolls over, crawls, or occasionally even takes their very first steps right here in the studio.

But we’re also there for the harder moments. The sleep regressions that leave everyone exhausted, the worries about development that can weigh heavily on a parent’s heart, and the days when motherhood feels overwhelming and you simply need someone who understands. Watching families support, encourage, and celebrate one another is one of the most meaningful parts of this community.

If you spent a session with me this year (or all five) I am so grateful that you chose to be part of our community and saw value in what we offer. Spending time with you and your babies is truly one of my favourite parts of what I do.

Thank you for trusting me to be a small part of this season of your lives. I can’t wait to welcome many of you back in September and meet the new families who will join us for another year of songs, sensory play, milestones, and connection.

School visit season is in full swing at Heartworks!

This week students are exploring watercolor, oil pastels, image transfer techniques, sensory play, and open-ended creativity. Every visit is designed to encourage curiosity, confidence, and creative exploration.

This week is flying by! We’re open Friday and Sunday from 10 am to 12 pm for Open Studio.

Open Studio is an opportunity for children and caregivers to explore, create, and connect together through process-focused art and sensory play in our welcoming studio space. Best suited for children walking to age 8, though children outside of that age range are always welcome.

Our studio is filled with open-ended art invitations, sensory experiences, and opportunities for imaginative play designed to support creativity, confidence, fine motor development, problem-solving, and self-expression. Just as importantly, Open Studio creates space for connection, between parent and child, between children, and within our wonderful community.

Each person attending (adults included) requires a ticket. Children under 18 months attending with a paying older sibling are free. Pre-register on the website. Tickets can be rescheduled when necessary.

Hello! A few little updates!

Our Open Studio has moved from Saturdays to Sundays (beginning next weekend) and will remain on Sundays until the weekend after Thanksgiving. With the farmers market moving outside for the season, the municipal lot beside the studio will now be closed on Saturday mornings until 1pm.

I’ve been debating adding a 10am birthday party booking on Saturdays, but I’m a little on the fence since the next closest municipal lot is about a 5-minute walk away.

We are open Friday from 10am–1pm for Open Studio if you want to sneak in a little bit of set and play before the weekend starts!

With that said, we’ll be closed this weekend outside of private birthday bookings. The sun is supposed to shine, and long weekends are typically a little quieter for us, so I’m heading to the cottage and really looking forward to some quality family time.

Join us this summer for Baby & Me and Baby Picasso, sensory-rich early literacy and play classes designed to nurture connection, creativity, and development through meaningful shared experiences.

Through songs, movement, sensory play, scarves, shakers, and hands-on exploration, babies and caregivers are invited to learn, play, and connect together in a warm and welcoming environment. These classes support early language development, sensory processing, motor skills, social interaction, curiosity, and caregiver-child bonding while also creating opportunities for community building and friendship among local families.

Each registered family will receive a free egg shaker and sensory scarf to continue the fun at home, along with a clay handprint keepsake and summer-themed footprint art.

Hello! We have our first PA day Mini Camp on Friday, June 5th 9am to 1pm. More info below!

Kick off summer with a joyful day of art, play, and creativity! Children will explore a variety of open-ended, process-focused art invitations inspired by all things summer—bright colours, playful textures, and sunny vibes.

Projects include a cool sunshine abstract painting, clay snails, and more exciting, playful creations. Kids will also enjoy full access to our studio, including all art invitations and sensory play stations throughout the day. A creativity-filled experience designed to spark imagination, celebrate the season, and welcome summer in the most artful way!

Registration & Payment:
A $25 deposit is due at booking to hold your child’s spot.
The remaining balance will be auto-collected from the credit card on file one week before the event.

Refund & Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations more than one week in advance: Refund issued minus a $10 fee to cover online processing.

Cancellations less than one week in advance: Refund issued minus the $10 fee if the spot can be filled from a waitlist.
