Is there anything you’ve always been pretty good at?

I’m asking because I’m brainstorming ways to rally behind myself as an artist, and I’d love to hear your perspective.

Have you been supported in developing your talents in your life? Not just encouragement, but real hands-on direction and support?

If so, what kinds of things were done to help you develop yourself?

Is there anything you can think of that would have been supportive to your natural talent, or would be supportive to you now?

Seeking art that doesn’t need anything from me.

I’ve been nervous to make birds again. We’ve all changed so much in the last couple of years, haven’t we?

I’ve been hibernating I think.

I’ve also been scared that I don’t fit anymore into this thing I built with so much love and care. What a lonely feeling.

I’m just one regular person and I want this to be easy again. Thanks for the encouragement.

What’s your favourite small easy art project? I would love some freshness in my life.

Life after rooster.

Almost a year ago, I got rid of the Rudy the rude rooster (spoiler for the tender-hearted: I didn't kill him, despite his multiple attempts on my own life haha).

Here's what life's been like since!

I told the end of the story this week on Patreon. It's a story of power and who has it, and what you do with it when you find out it's you.

Thank you to all of the Patreon supporters who have stayed with me as I've been growing and changing as an artist. With the podcast, and the paintings, and my 101 other pursuits, I haven't been focused as much on birds although I still love them very very much. (Important note: I am not done with them). I am so thrilled to be able to share myself with you, and your support really means a lot to me.

Thank you also to the folks who supported me on Patreon up to this point, and decided that my broader work is not for them. Thank you for your support, and I'm proud of you for trusting your gut.

Interesting Places

Not enough french fries!!!!!!!

Inspired by , I painted this one in batches - all the bodies at once, all the wings, all the eyes. When I stepped back it had character all of its own! I think the eyebrows were a pivotal choice 😆
