A timer + silly drawing exercises = so much fun at life-drawing after death. And it sure makes for a LOT of drawings!

In our homeschool session we used some prompts to put us in observation-mode - one line no looking at the paper! both hands at once! only straight lines! It was a real treat to stand back and see what we made. Here is some of my work.

Thank you to conservation officer Joel Kline for partnering with us on this project, for the great specimens and wealth of knowledge, and for drawing and laughing along with us.

TOMORROW - Life Drawing After Death: Homeschool session ✍️

A guided, curiosity-driven art session where we draw from real wildlife specimens - primarily skulls - in partnership with a local conservation officer.

No experience needed, and it's not about getting it "right"! It's about looking closely, making marks on paper, and enjoying the process. Materials provided.

✦ $25 per person

All-ages meet and greet 11:30-12pm - see some cool specimens with insights and stories from the conservation officer, and ask all your wildlife questions! By donation.

Life Drawing After Death this Saturday - last one of 2026! 💀✍️

Draw from real wildlife specimens in a welcoming studio environment, presented in collaboration with a local conservation officer.

We've got a different set of specimens, and we're so excited to draw with you!

No experience necessary - all you need is your curiosity. Paper and pencils available for use, or bring your own materials. Light refreshments provided.

Thank you for the well-wishes. We're taking a break from Hoot & Hollers... BUT

🌸 we've got a spring dance coming up at the Forest Grove Legion on Saturday, April 11, 7-9pm! 🌸

We had so much fun line dancing that when Ella suggested we throw a community party, I said YES!

So we’ve put together a real grab bag of all the best stuff: fun & easy line dances 👯👯👯, called dances (do-si-do yer partner!)🙌, silly dances everyone knows (AAY MACARENA) 🌶️ plus some slow dancing and two step songs 🌹.

Lighthearted, easy fun for beginners and all ages! And you don't need to be a legion member to come (although memberships are free this year).

DANCES CANCELLED: March 28 Hoot & Holler at the Lone Butte Hall cancelled due to family emergency. We're also cancelling April 18 to take some time to regroup.

All tickets will be refunded. If you know of anyone who was thinking of getting tickets at the door, please let them know!
