⭐️ Introducing one of our substitute teachers for the 2025/2026 season: Kadence Dhaene!

Kadence Dhaene is a professionally trained dancer and experienced instructor specializing in ballet, jazz, contemporary, baton twirling and acrobatics. From the ages of 6-15 she was involved in the sport of Baton Twirling where she won many regional and national titles. She has completed training in the professional division at Alberta Ballet alongside YYC Dance project where she had the opportunity to work with many different choreographers including Josh Beamish, Lucy Vallely, Michelle Dawley, Sarah Brinson, and more.

While training she went on to attend many competitions and conventions including Nuvo, Jump, WBAC Grand Prix, YAGP and The Dance Awards. Her professional performance background includes solo repertoire such as Giselle, Flames of Paris, and Paquita, as well as performances with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Alberta Ballet’s The Nutcracker.

After completing her training at Alberta Ballet she went on to train at the School of Cadence Ballet in Toronto. While training here she completed summer training at American Ballet Theatre and The Royal Ballet School. During Kadence’s graduating year she found herself back in the sport of Baton twirling, as she began coaching baton and dance with a local club. During this time she qualified to represent Team Canada at the 2022 World Baton Twirling Championships in Turin, Italy.

After graduating in 2022, Kadence continued training and teaching at The School of Cadence Ballet and most recently graduated from the post graduate program at Pittsburgh Ballet School. Kadence’s blend of professional experience, dynamic teaching style, and deep love for dance makes her a valuable mentor and role model for aspiring dancers of all levels!

⭐️ Introducing our Thursday recreational dance teacher for the 2025/2026 season: Kole Wiens!

Kole grew up on a farm outside of Carrot River, Saskatchewan, and began dancing at the age of two. She instantly fell in love with movement and went on to train extensively in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, modern, pointe, and acro. Over her fifteen years with the Carrot River School of Dance, she dedicated countless hours to the studio and the stage, performing at competitions across Saskatchewan.

Her hard work and passion led her to complete all jazz and tap examinations from Primary through Advanced with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, as well as Primary through Grade 8 with the Royal Academy of Dance. Along the way, she was recognized with numerous awards, including two National Awards in jazz and tap.

Kole also discovered her love of teaching early on. She spent seven years as a dance assistant, mentoring and encouraging younger dancers, and is now pursuing her Associate with the CDTA to further her teaching qualifications.

Beyond the studio, Kole is studying Agriculture Management with a major in Agri Commerce at Olds College. She values the balance between her agricultural roots and her creative passion for dance, and she is excited to continue sharing her knowledge, experience, and love of movement with her students!

⭐️ Announcing our new competitive tap & ballet teacher for the 2025/2026 season: Miss Madisyn!

Born and raised in Alberta, Madisyn grew up dancing at Joy’s School of Dance in Innisfail, where she trained competitively in a wide range of styles including Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, and Acro. Her early years in dance were filled with unique opportunities, such as performing in the 2018 Canada Winter Games Opening Ceremonies in Red Deer and even taking part in the flashmob that helped bring the Games to the city.

In 2019, she was selected to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City—an unforgettable experience that combined intensive rehearsals with the chance to explore the city’s vibrant culture. With her studio, she also had the opportunity to perform at Disneyland, taking the mainstage and competing in the Showstopper dance competition as one of the only Canadian studios represented.

After graduating high school, Madisyn continued her journey with Maddox Dance Company’s Contemporary Collective, performing a 30-minute piece that brought together dancers from across Central Alberta. She also worked with choreographer Lisa Calverley, serving as an understudy for her piece Ravel/Unravel.

Most recently, she had the honor of performing with Disney Cruise Line, joining the opening cast for Pixar Day at Sea on the Disney Fantasy.

Although she has transitioned from performer to educator, her love for dance remains strong. Madisyn has taught at her home studio, Miss Joanne’s School of Dance in Drayton Valley, and is now thrilled to be teaching at Inspire Dance Studio. She looks forward to sharing her passion for movement with her students and can’t wait to see what this incredible dance season has in store!
