Starcast Dance Academy is bursting with pride after another banner year of dance excellence in Okotoks. Thank you for making us the Best Place to Take a Dance Class in the Foothills in the Western Wheel Reader’s Choice Awards. We are also the recipients of the Chamber of Commerce Service Excellence Award Winner in Sports & Recreation Services! Hat’s off to our 1st place float in the Okotoks Parade

. Our dance studios have state-of-the-art sprung flooring with 1000s of rubber-flex pads based on running shoe technology for optimum dancer performance and injury prevention. Our floating dance floors are surfaced with professional Marley non-slip dance flooring. With three dance studios with mirror, ballet barre, an administrative office and change rooms. Our dancer’s can also take guitar and voice lessons on site. Our Starcast Competitive Company dancers continue to achieve numerous awards and scholarships at provincial level competitions. Our recreation program includes the largest selection of preschool dance classes in town and our recreation classes have a combo special that allows students to take three dance classes for the price of two. At Starcast we have ISTD, RAD and Cecchetti certified instructors on staff. We are also a certified ADAPT (Brian Foley) Studio! Our Acro program is taught by a Level III Certified Gymnastics Instructor to ensure your child’s safety. Our Starcast Preschool Program follows the ADAPT, RAD, American Ballet and Al Gilbert Syllabi, ensuring the highest standard of teaching excellence.

Hello Everyone,
Hope you are all doing well! We are just doing some spring cleaning at Balance Dance Centre the past week and have a bunch of the old Starcast photos and plaques from our groups! Oh, the memories... If any of you would like to stop by the studio tomorrow and grab some for keepsakes feel free. Also maybe message me personally or comment below if you would like to stop by and look through! Just so I can make sure I am around for you...

I will try and post some photos tomorrow of the ones we have, and you can let me know which ones you want!

Starcast Dance Academy has been sold to Miss Kristine Martin and has been officially renamed Balance Dance Centre. I cannot thank all my dance families for the years of memories we have had together and the honour of raising your beautiful kids!!!! We truly were a family and I will always be grateful to you all!

To all my dance teachers and staff over the past 15 years, no words! We always had the most incredible and dedicated human beings teaching at my studio. Love you all so much!!!

Keep in touch and know that you all left an impression on my heart!!! I am excited for my new chapter of full time hockey mom (poor Kenny)!

Don't forget to check out the Balance Dance Centre GRAND OPENING on Wednesday September 6th! See the new and exciting renovations, meet and say hello to the fabulous faculty and enjoy treats and prizes, as well as free dance classes!

Registration is at the studio on Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 5:00-8:00pm.

Drop-in Summer Ballet Classes
Mrs Proust is offering Drop-in Ballet classes Tuesday & Thursday mornings from 10:00-11:30am through until August 31st. $10/class - These classes are open to all ages and levels.

Few spots remain for this improvisation workshop. Sign up to secure your place.

Workshops are a pivotal part of a dancer’s development, the experience gained from participation is invaluable. Students increase their versatility and growth as young professionals. Improvisation categories have become increasingly popular at competitions and auditions, improv training is a highly advantageous asset to any dancer resume. This workshop will focus on the foundations of improv, skill building, solo/partner/ group work, improving confidence, story telling, fluidity of movement with a heavy emphasis on musicality. This workshop will be based in contemporary, modern and jazz foundations.

Saturday March 25- 11:30 - 1:00 Studio 3
Cost: $25

Hiphop is a powerful, dynamic dance style, which improves overall coordination and flexibility and musicality. This workshop will include: a stretch and warmup, bootcamp style workout and fun, sassy femme style hiphop combo. Join our safe and fun class that can be modified for any fitness level. Bring a water bottle, active wear and non-marking indoor runners or jazz sneakers. No dance experience necessary.
