It's another sad day this week. One of Steve's most favorite childhood stars, Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime, passed away. His iconic voice will live on forever.

BTW, did you know he also voiced Eeyore?

REST IN PEACE, PETER CULLEN 🕊️

Very sad news as we say goodbye to the legendary Peter Cullen, who has passed away at the age of 85. His agent confirmed that Cullen died at his Los Angeles home on Wednesday.

For generations of fans, Peter Cullen was the voice of Optimus Prime. Beginning with the original Transformers animated series in 1984, his deep, commanding and compassionate voice helped turn Optimus into one of the most beloved heroes of the ’80s and beyond. He later returned to the role throughout the Transformers franchise, including the live-action films.

His remarkable voice could also be heard as Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh, Monterey Jack in Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers, KARR in Knight Rider, and even in the vocal effects for the Predator.

Peter Cullen gave a voice to our childhoods, and for millions of ’80s kids, hearing Optimus Prime will always mean hearing him.

Rest in peace, Peter Cullen. Thank you for the memories.
