Filarmonica Lira Bom Jesus is a Portuguese band based in Oakville that is rich in history and in beautiful music. Formed in 1969, the band is the second oldest Portuguese band in Ontario. Through the four decades the band has been together, they have stuck to their Portuguese roots, performing traditional music at religious festivals and other celebratory events. Their musicians play a variety of

instruments to create their beautiful music; including clarinets, alto saxophones, baritone saxophones, soprano saxophones, tenor saxophones, trumpets, trombones, trompas, tubas, and percussion. The band is very dedicated and their skills and practice are on display at every performance.

A Filarmónica Lira Bom Jesus realizou mais uma edição da tradicional Festa da Santíssima Trindade em Oakville.

A celebração reuniu centenas de membros da comunidade portuguesa para um dia de fé, tradição e convívio, marcado pela Missa Solene, procissão, Sopas do Espírito Santo, Procissão das Rosquilhas e animação cultural.

Um dos momentos altos foi a coroação de José Amaral, um dos elementos mais antigos da banda.
