We're excited to share that BOTG's own Carter Whatley was the recipient of the 2026 Youth Artist Award (Senior) at this year's Oakville Youth Awards, recognizing his contributions to theatre! 🎭

Carter joined BOTG at just 15 years old as an ensemble member in our 2023 production of Cabaret, and has been involved in our shows ever since. You may recognize him from the stage in our annual holiday pantomime, most recently playing Abu in Snow White & the Secret Vault. However, behind the scenes he's been an integral part of BOTG, as Assistant Director of The SpongeBob Musical, Company, Matilda the Musical, and The Play That Goes Wrong. He's also been an ASM, lighting board operator, and volunteer in many other roles, as he's always willing to step in and lend a hand.

He's a true embodiment of the "community" in "community theatre" and we're so proud of his achievement winning the Oakville Youth Award. Congrats Carter and congrats to all the other youth nominees & recipients!

Welcome to the Rock! We're already so excited for next year's Spring musical that we want to find our talented cast as soon as we can 🤩 We're searching for a diverse company of 12 actor-singers who are interested in a creative and actor-driven rehearsal process. All actors must be proficient with a Newfoundland (Gander) dialect as well as various other international accents. The first round of auditions will consist of an online video submission.

🔗 AUDITION FORM: https://forms.gle/hcmE7uE8Pnfa4QYU7

We ask that you prepare the following 3 items:

1) A simple one-page performance resume listing recent roles/shows in which you’ve performed, the year and the company/creative team as well as any specialty skills/interests.

2) A short video (1.5 – 2.5 min max) of a contemporary music theatre or pop/rock song which showcases your acting and singing skills as well as your vocal range.

3) A 30 second monologue from the show (text and recorded dialect will be included in the email for reference) that demonstrates your proficiency with the Gander dialect and your charm as a storyteller.

The creative team will review the video submissions and select actors to be invited to in-person callbacks taking place June 3, 4, 5, (7:00 - 10:00 PM) and June 6 (1:00 - 5:00 PM).
