10 Years of Vancouver Iranian Choir
In August 2016, Vancouver Iranian Choir began with Sepehr Hojjaty and Amir Eslami, alongside two friends and colleagues, with a simple vision: to create a space for Iranian music, culture, and community through choral music.
Over the past ten years, Vanchoir has grown from a small choir into a cultural and artistic community. From our early performances at Gloria Dei Church to stages such as BlueShore Financial Centre, Kay Meek Arts Centre, and Centennial Theatre, we have continued to learn, create, collaborate, and grow.
Along the way, we have supported new and emerging artists, commissioned original works, collaborated with artists from diverse backgrounds, and expanded our programs to include ensembles, theatre, seniors programs, and educational initiatives.
Our purpose remains the same: to celebrate Iranian culture, create opportunities for artists and future generations, and build meaningful bridges with the broader Canadian community.
Thank you to every artist, member, volunteer, collaborator, audience member, and supporter who has been part of these ten years.
10 years of music, community, creativity, and connection — and the journey continues.
