Well.... this one’s in the books. There’s a lot to learn from the shockingly scenic Alsek River.... including that “citron” is a colour, America truly IS (not) the land of the free and portaging a loaded boat six kilometers really can take 12 hours. We had 3 pack rafters and 5 kayakers. 10 days straight of mind blowing scenery and enough awkward humour to get us through the worst of times. Our trip passed through two national parks and one provincial park as we weaved from Haines Junction, YT to Dry Bay, AK. Turnback Canyon is a gigantic shapeshifting cauldron of boils, whirlpools and very cold water that we portaged with that good old fashioned resiliency. Now it’s back to my comfortable old desk job where nothing will ever go wrong or be challenging!

Traxion is German for traction. If you don’t work full time you’re because you have way too much free time to go boating. Never underestimate the benefits of gainful employment even in a dirt bag dominated sub culture. Don’t get convinced that you’re “conceded” for being able to afford your new $200 canyon shoes. Robust design, loud neon color and embossed eurotrash hype text give the Adidas Terrex Hydro Lace everything needed to upstage a rando Germanic be**er in a riverside rave off. Anyone else want in on this Stealth Traxion Technology? Just out here gettin “gripped” before the Alsek. Did I mention the size is written on the outside of the shoe?

After a disappointing performance in the due to a massive piton on the seal launch I’ve started looking for a new weapon of choice. Super stoked for the support of who hooked me up with their new race boat. Anyone interested in a cutting edge design that is super easy to get out of, has grab handles built into the hull and won’t cost more than a hundred dollars should dare their self to . Expanding on the concept of kayaks that self destruct on impact, the will preempt 14th place embarrassment with the glory of equipment failure leading to self rescue. I believe you don’t .
