It’s a crackled poppy pod planter. This was finished yesterday using a raku firing technique. I got to pull it out of a red hot kiln with metal tongs and chuck it into a pile of papers and wood shavings to catch on fire. We smothered the smoke and flame with a bucket to let the carbon soak into the clay and create this rich black colour.
