Call for Artists: Anonymous Art Show 2026 🌟📣

The Anonymous Art Show is back! We are excited to see the hundreds of 8″ x 8″ unique artworks created by local emerging and professional artists this year. Head out to the link in our bio to submit your application in support of our popular annual FUNdraiser!

This is a wonderful first exhibition for all community members, as the artwork is not juried. If an artist only submits one artwork, the piece will be in the exhibition as long as it meets the submission requirements.

The best part? The artists remain anonymous until their artwork is sold. Each participating artist signs only the back of their canvas, and once a piece is purchased, it is removed from the wall to reveal the artist’s name to the buyer. ✨

Proceeds from the show support North Van Arts' operations, making it a wonderful way to showcase your work while contributing to community arts and culture!

Call for 2D & 3D Artists: Art in the Community 2027 đź“Ł

North Van Arts is now accepting applications from emerging and professional visual artists for our Art in the Community Program 2027.

The program offers artists the opportunity to present a solo exhibition in a public-space gallery for an 8–12 week period.

Exhibition venues include:

District Library Gallery/ Located at the Lynn Valley Main Library (2D ONLY)
District Foyer Gallery/ Located at North Vancouver District Hall (2D and 3D)
City Atrium Gallery / Located at the North Vancouver City Hall (2D and 3D)

We welcome artists working in a range of 2D and small 3D mediums, including painting, photography, ceramics, and mixed media.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the artists and their work in Layered Landscapes! ✨It was wonderful to see the gallery filled with lively conversations, new connections, and reflections on the exhibition.

CityScape Gallery will host an artist talk on Saturday, September 19, featuring artists Mohadese Movahed, Biliana Velkova, Rebecca Bayer, and Jennifer Tazewell Mawby. This conversation offers an opportunity to learn more about the ideas, processes, and perspectives behind the exhibition. RSVP through the link in our bio and join us for an afternoon celebrating our wonderful artists and their work!

On view until September 26, Layered Landscapes explores how landscapes, both natural and built, become vessels for memory, imagination, and cultural inheritance. Moving beyond landscape as a purely physical site, the exhibition considers terrain as a living archive shaped by ecology, power, mythology, technology, and personal history.

North Van Arts is seeking passionate and active community members with a connection to the arts to join our volunteer Board of Directors for 2026–27.

Board members are responsible for:

• Attending 7 board meetings annually
• Attending 1 AGM annually
• Participating in at least one committee

Currently, we have three working committees: Governance, Membership & Fundraising, and Finance.

North Van Arts presents: Layered Landscapes. ✨

Layered Landscapes explores how natural and built environments become vessels for memory, imagination, and cultural inheritance. Through painting, drawing, and sculpture, the exhibition reimagines landscape as a living archive shaped by ecology, mythology, technology, power, and personal history, blurring the boundaries between reality and myth, past and present, and place and psyche.

📆 Exhibition Dates: August 14 - September 26, 2026

Johnny (Tiger) Tai’s Zodiac Crossroads brings together the Chinese zodiac and Western astrology in a series of tactile raised etchings that explore identity, culture, and belonging. Blind and partially deaf, Tai creates works designed to be experienced through both touch and sight, challenging traditional ideas of how we engage with art. Through texture, myth, and sensory storytelling, Zodiac Crossroads invites audiences into a more inclusive and accessible artistic experience—one where connection extends beyond vision alone.
