Botany III is the third print in my Botany series and is now available through my online print store (you'll find the link on my website).

Now I need to stop playing with art supplies and focus on unpacking... at least for a little while. 😄

was told this vase made it safely to its new home. The plan was to take a picture of it... but someone else had different ideas. 😸

Cats seem to have an instinct for stealing the spotlight—and apparently for handmade ceramics too.

Botany II in a different set up.

The second painting in my Botany series. 🌿

Since I'm in the middle of moving, I have limited access to my usual art supplies, so I've been working on this new series of abstract designs, available as prints through my Fine Art America store.

You can find them through my website (Shop Prints & Lifestyle), where you can choose the size, framing, mat, and other options to create a print that fits your space.

One thing I like about offering prints through Fine Art America is that you can choose the size that works best for your space instead of being limited to one format.

There are also quite a few framing options, from natural wood to metal, with or without a mat. The print arrives framed (if you choose that option) and ready to hang.

If you're curious, you can see this piece with the different sizes and framing options here:

A little update: my online shop is now closed for paintings, drawings and ceramics while I make the move to Vancouver Island. The only things still available are my life drawing digital downloads, since they don't require shipping.

Moving and setting up a new studio will take a few months, so I hope to reopen in the fall. I'll share the process along the way, and once everything is ready I'll give you a tour of the new studio.

In the meantime, I'll keep drawing and sharing new work here. See you soon! 😊

Looking for a relaxing creative project? In this free tutorial, I'll show you how to make your own patterned origami paper using simple drawing techniques and a short guided meditation by Sophie Babeanu
to help you slow down and enjoy the process.

No special skills or expensive materials are needed—just paper, a pen, and a little curiosity. You can use your finished papers for origami, collage, journaling, gift wrapping, or simply enjoy the meditative process of making them.

You can find the free tutorial on my blog: https://paintingdemos.com/make-your-own-origami-paper-with-patterns-and-short-meditation or link in bio

One of the questions I'm asked most often is, "Where do you get your ideas?"

The answer is... I don't start with an idea. I start with colour.

In Painting Imaginary Flowers, I show the process I've been using for years: creating an abstract background first, then discovering flowers hidden within the shapes and bringing them to life with line, pattern, and colour. It's a wonderful exercise if you'd like to loosen up, paint more intuitively, and stop feeling tied to reference photos.

If that sounds like your kind of creative adventure, the book is available on Amazon.
