I’m so happy to be working with Morgan on a couple of shows at the Glasgow Square venue! Pictou County is lucky to have people and venues like this working hard to keep live music and events going.

I was absolutely overwhelmed by what happened last night at the Dave Gunning show. I am usually not at a loss for words but I don’t know how to adequately thank everyone for showing so much love and support last night.

Last night is the perfect example of what I am trying to build here in North Bay. I want to bring people together for amazing musical experiences and make a difference in our community through my partnerships with the organizations and charities I support.

The generosity of the donors for our silent auction was humbling. There were some pretty happy auction winners and a substantial amount of money was raised to go back into the theatre at Chippewa!

It was a powerful moment to have some of the students in our community join Dave for These Hands. A lot of tears started flowing for that one.

Everyone knows how much I love East Coast music and art so I was pretty excited to see this amazing collection of art for sale. There are some spectacular pieces up for sale and you can even preview them online.

I encourage you to check it out. I know I've got my eye on a couple of pieces!

Very soon the end of a very emotional and personal concert season will take place. Ending it with Dave Gunning on my birthday (May 30th) at Chippewa is special.
North Bay is in for a real treat with Dave Gunning.

INCOMING RANT ALERT:

I am at home dealing with a health issue trying not to take on too much and take it easy but I saw this comment today on a Soo Today article that just hit a raw nerve.

My all time favourite performer is making an appearance in Sault Saint Marie. Garnet Rogers is a national treasure, a remarkable talent, and has been a huge inspiration to myself and my son Connor in our music endeavours.

Kenneth decided to make comments at the end of the article and there are so many things wrong in such a short comment. A quick listen on ‘Amazon Prime’ and Kenneth has decided that a $40 ticket price represents ageism and accuses the venue or Garnet of alienating the 40+ crowd and ends with a SMH (shaking my head).

This is a time we need to be supporting musicians and artists. Music is one thing that can bring all people together regardless of their background. At times it seems the one sane thing helping to keep the world together.

I understand that some may not be able to afford a $40 ticket and if that is the case for ‘Kenneth’ I can respect that but please Kenneth keep out of the comments section of a topic you are so grossly uneducated about. Am I way off base with this? I have not followed the advice of wait and think before you post.

Hopefully this post qualifies as the ‘better to let it out than keep it in’. I may delete later but rant over.
