MEET THE MAKER: MINDY CALLAGHAN ✨

Mindy's Unique Creations

It’s time to start introducing the people who will be joining us for the ANISHWE Indigenous Market.

And we’re beginning with Mindy Callaghan of Kebaowek First Nation in Kipawa, Quebec. ❤️

Mindy creates beautiful, detailed beadwork ranging from wearable pieces to larger statement works. We had some fun showcasing a few of her pieces in a different way, but nothing compares to seeing the craftsmanship up close.

On August 29, you’ll be able to meet Mindy, see what she has created and support her work directly.

📅 Saturday, August 29
📍 ANISHWE • 163 Main St W, North Bay
✨ Free admission

The Indigenous Market is about more than putting things on a table. It’s about meeting the people who make them.

Welcome to our maker roll call. ❤️

MIIGWECH, NORTH BAY. 💜

What an unforgettable weekend.

Thank you to the BAY BLOCK PARTY, Capitol Centre, Downtown North Bay & Waterfront, Downtown Gallery Hop and every organizer, artist, musician, technician, engineer, vendor, staff member and security worker who helped bring our downtown to life.

And thank you to every single person who came through ANISHWE.

You painted with us. You made shirts and bracelets. You brought your kids. You supported our artists and makers. You laughed with us, talked with us and filled this little store with more life than we could have imagined.

People of all ages, nations, cultures and backgrounds walked through these doors this weekend.

That’s the kind of downtown we believe in.

That’s the kind of community we want ANISHWE to be part of.

Tonight the purple lights are still on, the paint is still drying and we’re sitting here feeling incredibly grateful.

Thank you for letting our little place be part of something so big.

Miigwech. Until the next one. 💜🌙

🖤💛 IT’S OFFICIAL.

The ANISHWE Indigenous Makers Market is happening.

Over the last few days, we’ve been hearing from some incredible Indigenous makers, artists and creators, and now we finally get to start showing you what we’ve been putting together.

On Saturday, August 29, we’re opening up ANISHWE for a small Indigenous Makers Market right in the heart of downtown North Bay.

This isn’t about packing as many vendors as possible into one space. We wanted to keep the first one small, give each maker a chance to actually be seen, and create a place where people can come in, meet the people behind the work and support Indigenous creativity directly.

Art. Fashion. Jewellery. Handmade work. And more.

📅 Saturday, August 29
⏰ 12 PM – 6 PM
📍 ANISHWE | 163 Main St W, Downtown North Bay
✨ FREE ADMISSION

And this is only the beginning.

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be introducing the makers joining us, sharing their work and giving you a look at what you’ll be able to find at the market. 👀

So hit Interested or Going on the official event, share it around, invite somebody to come downtown with you, and keep watching because the maker announcements are coming next.

Come meet the makers.
Come support Indigenous artists and small businesses.
Come see what we’re building downtown.

We’re not building a store, we’re building a place. 🖤💛

August 29. See you at ANISHWE.
