National Arts Centre Launches Funding for Artists
What is ?
is a $600,000 short-term relief fund that pays professional Canadian artists for their online performances. It was launched by Facebook Canada and the National Arts Centre to help ease the financial strain for Canadian artists impacted by the closure of performance venues across Canada related to COVID-19, and to lift the spirits of Canadians during the crisis. Artists who are selected will receive $1,000 and their online performance will be broadcast on the NAC's page.
I'm an artist. How do I apply?
The National Arts Centre will receive and administer applications until April 13, 2020 from Canadian performing artists who would like to post a 45 to 60 minute online performance. Selected artists will receive a financial grant, and their performances will be shared on the NAC's page which will be discoverable by searching .

Canadian performing artists or ensemble (less than 10 people) simply need to write to the National Arts Centre at [email protected] [CanadaPerforms AT nac-cna DOT ca], provide their name, a description of their 45-60 minutes performance, when they wish to share and on what platform. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or Canadian residents. The NAC will select fund recipients in consultation with industry leaders. The NAC will announce online performances via the NAC page for Canadians to watch and enjoy.
