Rootstock started in 2002 as a facilitator for Roots Music based in the wine region of Niagara. Brian Andres, (founder, local musician and wine enthusiast) believes Roots Music, like wine, should express the local terroir, bringing out its unique character and sense of the surrounding landscape. The proceeds from Rootstock events goes to support Niagara migrant workers who have suffered injury and have difficulty providing for their families or those who have suffered family trauma.
