Tanmay Parashar

Tanmay Parashar I am a London, Ontario based Abstract Artist. I'm a London, ON based self-taught abstract expressionist, passionately in love with colours.

After a lifetime of wanting to paint, I finally started painting in 2018 at the age of 39. I haven’t looked back since then and I look forward to seeing where this new voice for expression will lead. I try to evoke a sense of beauty and inspiration through the interactions between colours as they find their place on the surface I'm working with. I am an experimental painter. I play with colours, s

urfaces, textures, gestures, and implements to see what comes out of it. I am passionately in love with colours and constantly inspired by the abundance of colours in nature. Growing up in a colour-centric culture primed me for this life-long love. I endeavor to create pieces that produce the same passion for colours in others that I have always felt.

Returning to this style after a long time. I call these "The one with colours and stripes'. This is part of a large number of 12x12s commissioned for a project. I LOVE the stage when I have to pick the next colour to put down. I am working on a few of these so you will see more of these on my feed over the next few weeks.

I call this style 'woven colours' because the pattern reminds me of the classic jackets. 😊

I have been told that the rich texture and three dimensionality of the strokes in my paintings does not always come through on Instagram. People are often surprised when they come up close to my work at shows. Here's a close up shot of one such layered piece.

As another phenomenal iteration of the Artist Project comes to an end, I want to take a moment to express gratitude and count my blessings.

This year I took some big risks in the form of super large paintings and increased pricing. Staying true to my brand, I doubled down on the use of colours. I worked tirelessly since January to produce brand new works for the show and expanded the styles I brought with me. The risks all paid off. This was my best showing at the show since my first appearance in 2022. There were countless heart warming conversations, my show stopper was purchased for a private collection on the opening night and I furthered conversations with new galleries. My heart is full and I am looking forward to spending the next few weeks/months basking in this glory.

As usual Mark and Igal from did a phenomenal job hanging my booth.

My family stayed with me all 4 days, helping me man the booth.

Booth pictures credits to the amazing

I already have plans for next year. So, see you soon.
