Give yourself the gift of a “guided writing ” appointment. In this 8 week series of classes with Clare Bolton, you will discover the joy and power of writing in a group. Based on the Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA) method of using timed prompts and positive feedback, this class is perfect for a writer with some previous workshop or class experience. In-clas

Have you always wanted to explore creative writing as a form of self-expression? Join Clare Bolton for this 4 week introductory class designed to help you discover joy in the creative process. A sensitive and empathetic teacher, Clare will guide you in developing your writing voice. A variety of weekly exercises, prose and poetry readings, and in-class writing will be introduced to nurture your creativity. At the end of the 4 week series of classes, participants will have a notebook filled with some exciting “starter dough” as Alice Munro calls it, in the form of their own completed unedited writing pieces. This workshop is perfect for the beginner writer or the writer that wants to be inspired again.

Beaghmore Stone Circles

Finally, the weather was kind and I was able to photograph this object. Definitely the most popular celestial body in recent days. I chose low light-polluted area for this - Beaghmore Stone Circles and admired the spectacle.
It was definitely worth it!

Inspired while on a writing retreat with Pat Schneider, founder of the Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA), Clare Bolton has created a workshop experience based on the AWA conviction that "we are all storytellers, and that anyone who can talk to a close friend can write. For Youth 10 + This 2 ½ hour workshop will give you the tips to get started writing your own unique short story. Learn how to give your words the power to create the characters, scenery and action, in a world only you can imagine. Bring a notebook, pen and snack. There is no charge for this workshop but pre-registration is required as class size is limited to 10.
