VOJ Voices of Joy Community Choir

VOJ Voices of Joy Community Choir Voices of Joy is an inclusive community choir where all abilities are celebrated, and the love of music brings us together.

The VOJ Voices of Joy Community Choir was formed in 1998 through the inspiration of Linda Middlebrook. Linda, with the support of a dedicated executive committee, founded the choir as an inclusive musical community where all are welcome, regardless of ability or training. Linda lived to see her vision come to fruition and although she passed away in 2007, the choir’s strength, survival and ever gr

owing enthusiasm is testament to Linda’s vision and hard work. The choir is made up of individuals who love to sing; many with a developmental challenge, as well as community people who offer support. All members encourage each other, and offer an environment where everyone is able to share their joy of music. Annually the choir performs a Christmas and a Spring Concert and sings at the annual Community Living Tribute Dinner. In addition they perform 3 or 4 times a year at various venues in the community. The choir practices every Monday evening from September through June in Bethel Community Christian Reformed Church, 333 Davis Dr. Newmarket.
