Curious about quilts? Want to learn more? Join us on Saturday, September 19 from 11 am to 4 pm at Richmond Hill Public Library, Oak Ridges Branch, 34 Regatta Avenue as Guild members will demonstrate how blocks that make up a quilt are sewn, as well as show hand quilting. Purchase a raffle ticket for $2 each to be entered for a chance to win this beautiful queen-sized quilt made by Guild members. The raffle draw will be held on April 24, 2027 at the Guild's biennial Quilt Show at the Newmarket Community Centre & Lions Hall. All proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets will be donated to Victim Services of York Region.

Guild member, Sandra, recently sold 84 raffle tickets at her cottage craft sale for our beautiful queen size quilt made by our members. The quilt raffle will take place at our biennial quilt show in April 23 & 24, 2027 at the Newmarket Community Centre. Have you bought your tickets yet? Proceeds from the sale of tickets will be donated to Victim Services of York Region.

Our Guild crew in action on Friday at the CNE "Common Threads: An Exhibit of Quilts, Crafts & Community" in the Withrow Common Gallery. We handed out mug rugs. More than 500 visitors came through during our 6 hour stint. See us do it all again on Sunday, September 6 from 10 am to 12 pm & 1 pm to 3pm.

If you've missed visiting us at the Aurora Farmers Market, our next community event is at the CNE from Aug 21st to Sept 7th at "Common Threads: An Exhibit of Quilt, Crafts & Community" in the Withrow Common Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Building from 10 am to 10 pm.

Some of our members will also be available for demonstrations on Friday, Sep 4th - 10 am to 12 pm & 1 pm to 3 pm, as well on Sunday, Sep 6th from 10 am to 12 pm & 1 pm to 3 pm.

We recently delivered 19 quilts to Hill House Hospice in RIchmond Hill. Here's what Amanda B, Director of Clinical Care, Hill House Hospice wrote to the Guild.

"One of the most meaningful ways Hill House uses your quilts is during our Resident Exiting Ceremony. Our staff thoughtfully select a quilt that reflects something special to the resident. The quilt is gifted to the resident, and in turn their family after the resident's death, but before that, it plans an important role in our Resident Exiting Ceremony.

Your Guild's mission to promote the art of quilting and support community organizations through quilt donations is beautifully reflected in this gift. These quilts are more than blankets; they are expressions of kindness, artistry, and community spirit that provide comfort during some of life's most difficult moments."

Come visit us on Saturday, Aug 8th at The Aurora Farmers' Market & Artisan Fair at Town Park, 49 Wells Street, Aurora from 8 am to 1 pm.

Purchase a $2 raffle ticket for a chance to win this gorgeous queen size bed quilt made by our members. Raffle proceeds will be donated to Victim Services of York Region - a nonprofit agency that works in partnership with York Regional Police and the OPP to provide 24 hour emotional support and practical assistance to persons victimized by crime or tragic circumstance.
