Arts New West Arts New West is committed to bringing the community together through the arts.

The Arts Council established in 1967 as a not-for-profit organization to encourage, nurture and infuse creative spirit in New Westminster. The Arts Council of New Westminster operates The Gallery at Queen's Park which is located at the Centennial Lodge in Queens Park.

The race for Mayor of New Westminster is on!

Join Arts New West for an exclusive, non-partisan conversation with mayoral candidates Patrick Johnstone (Community First Party) and Daniel Fontaine (New West Progressives Party).

Arts and culture are essential to a healthy, thriving and connected city. They bring people together, promote individual and community wellbeing, create vibrant public spaces, fund local artists, organizations and businesses, attract visitors, strengthen our economy and contribute to the identity and quality of life of our community.

Hear where the candidates stand.

The debate will focus on the municipality’s role in the arts and culture issues that matter to New Westminster—from supporting local artists and cultural organizations to funding affordable creative spaces, cultural investment, public art, tourism and promoting arts and culture in building a vibrant city.

The 2026 New West Craft Indigenous Market was a huge success!

A vibrant celebration of Indigenous culture and creativity, the market creates community connections and support for Indigenous entrepreneurs

By the numbers:
An estimated 7,000 people attended
▪️ Over 80 Indigenous makers, artists and business owners participated
▪️ The majority of vendors made between $1000 and $2000
▪️ Over $100,000.00 in revenue to Indigenous entrepreneurs
▪️Over 71% of vendors reported gaining new customers
▪️ 83% of vendors say they want to participate again
▪️ Entertainment showcased 17 indigenous performers, creators and cultural presentations

Vendors reported that one of the best parts of the event was being able to connect with others.

Meet the artists behind "Fibre Four"!

Exploring diverse approaches to incorporating colour red into fibre works, four artists collaborate in perfect harmony.

Sharon Allman creates both abstract and representational art that is often influenced by the materials available as well as drawing inspiration from nature.

Terry Aske presents a sense of place in the community, recreating iconic landscape imagery through quilted textile.

Trish Graham finds tapestry, with its emphasis on colour and shape, suits her desire to learn and explore.

Teresa Morton, Landscape &
Pastels. Ranging from oceans to forests to gardens, Teresa’s pastel paintings are an invitations to explore our environment and revel in the abundance of visual riches.

Terry Rammell creates fibre works that incorporate botanicals either in organza overlays or by direct print to cloth.

Music has a remarkable way of bringing people together.

This exhibition uses music as a metaphor for everyday life. Just as a chord is created by different notes sounding together, our lives gain richness through friendships, acts of kindness, and the shared moments that connect us.
