In the tunnel our train builds
to roller coaster speeds
yet straight as an arrow
bursting into daylight
at tunnel's end
soaring above shimmering river waters
My gaze fixed on the broad aquatic mirror
gulls and waterfowl dot the river waters
Today a heron flaps overhead in it's regal manner
Where the Fraser makes its hard bend westward
easily mistaken for the sea it will merge with.
This experience never grows old and boring.

Psycho Trippers, a poem

Inhalers of crystalized chemo-vapours
injectors of liquified poppy toxins
depart on psycho trips
away from reality
Becoming ragdoll sidewalk sleepers
Is this a return trip?
Or a one-way ticket
away from the land of the Living?

I Am Steam

Excited by the heat
racing atoms of H2O
bubble and boil rapidly
transform into vapour micro-clouds
dancing up into the room
then vanish from view

But not from existence.
