Our second merch graphic, commissioned by the talented and lovely cohen šŸ’™

This one is about that feeling of getting out of your head and into your body. Clay can ground you so completely in the moment, while somehow transporting you at the same time. You lose track of time, become fully immersed, and slip into flow; tapping into that creative frequency where things start to feel more intuitive.

There’s something very meditative and spiritual about that kind of presence. It’s part of what makes working with clay feel like more than just making ✨

We’re doing a tallest cylinder competition at the housewarming as part of our giveaway!

4 wheels, 5 minutes, 1 lump of clay.

We’ll have heats for people who are brand new to the wheel and for people with some experience, so nobody has to get absolutely smoked by a MUD member on their first try.

There’ll be prizes, extra giveaway entries, and sign-up sheets at the party so you can grab a time slot and come back for your heat.

MUD had a glow up this summer ✷

Alongside moving into our new home on Baker Street, we’ve also been quietly working on a refresh of MUD’s branding and an entirely new website with the help of my best friend, Bree of November Wild.

Bree refined our original logo, created our new vase submark, and built out a much fuller visual language for MUD. She also completely redesigned our website, somehow making a growing amount of information feel simple and intuitive to navigate while also making the whole thing so much more beautiful.

And then there are the photos! Bree has shot all of the new photography you see throughout the website, and her eye behind a camera is absolutely incredible. She notices the little moments and details that actually make MUD feel like MUD, and has given us this whole collection of images that captures why MUD feels so special.

Her keen eye has made its way into the physical space too. Through the move and buildout, she’s helped me think through so many of the little details that make a space feel considered and connected, (often long before I’ve figured out exactly what I’m trying to do!)

One of the things I value most about Bree, both as a designer and a friend, is her ability to meet me in my floaty, half-formed thoughts and help me sift through them until we find the thing I was reaching for. She listens, notices the tiny details, asks the right questions, and helps shape and refine an idea without ever taking it away from me.

I think that’s why this collaboration has felt so natural. She understood what was already there and helped us build it out, make it clearer and give it more room to grow, without ever making MUD feel like something else.

Hugest thank you to Bree for the amount of thought, care and creativity she’s put into this next iteration of MUD.
So grateful to have your brain, your talent, and your friendship woven into this place. šŸ’•

Working on the wheel has a way of pulling you completely into the moment. At MUD, we see people settle in, get absorbed, laugh (or swear) at the wonky ones, and slowly build a skill they can actually feel in their hands. It’s tactile, challenging, surprisingly social, and a pretty great way to spend a couple of hours away from a screen.

We recently added a couple more of our level 1 six-week courses to the website so more of you can join us in getting muddy this fall & winter. Link in bio to register.
