This will be an all ages, outdoor event. Public health information will also be available at the event.

The Bent On Art - Music & Performance Showcase is TONIGHT (be sure to register via the ticket link on event page to access the stream!), and we have just one more performer to tell you about - the hometown hero Marloe Blu!

Marloe Blu has been bringing his special brand of burlesque to the stage and into the hearts of audience members since 2017. Known for his artistic flair and comedic funny bone, Marloe has performed in a variety of burlesque and drag shows in B.C. including the Kootenay Burlesque Festival, The Itty Bitty Burlesque Festival and "What a Drag" - a production by The Dancing Legs.

He is the co-producer of Made In the Shade, a two day music, art and performing arts festival that he helped bring to life in 2018 where he produces the Back Pocket Burlesque Show.
He has also been featured on Shaw cable in a piece called "Becoming Marloe Blu," that was broadcast across the nationat which point all of Canada fell in love with him.

What does he have planned for Bent On Art?

"this act came from a blend of imagination and a lampshade i saw online… I wanted to do a fringe number and thought …. go big or go home.
one reason has morphed and become a signature act for Marloe Blu. people love to watch this act and i have had headline performers use the idea (in a different scale) for their acts.
this is one of my fav acts to perform."

Wow - the Bent On Art - Music & Performance Showcase is TOMORROW NIGHT! Today we'll introduce you to another performing artist, who you may be familiar with from past BOA performances: T wolfe 🐺

Woods wanderer. Gender q***r. Slow texter.

After a casual flirtation with live performance in a handful of musical projects over the years, mostly performing songs written by others - t is ready to take to the stage once again. Coming out of 2020 with some new music, new covers, old songs reworked and a strong desire to once again play a live show!

Mostly spending time playing in a cabin with only their dog as an audience, and attempting to expand their musical abilities in the technology realm... this year's Bent on Art Festival will be the first time t will engage with an online audience! Honoured to be a part of the amazing arts community in the Kootenays and looking forward to experiencing all the works put forward in this years festival

Bent On Art has been made possible in part thanks to the guidance of Maggie Shirley and the support of the Kootenay Gallery of Art 🙏

The Kootenay Gallery of Art, History and Science, located in Castlegar, is a public art gallery that serves the entire West Kootenay Region with a variety of exhibitions and public programming for all ages and is operated by a Board of Directors and staff who strive to accomplish the goals set in our mission statement.

It is one of the 28 original exhibition centers built in the 1970s so that rural people could enjoy the great works of art, sourced regionally, nationally and internationally as well as provide a professional venue for regional artists to show and sell their work.

The Kootenay Gallery is a non-profit institution, governed by a Board of Directors and financially assisted by the Government of BC through the BC Arts Council, the City of Castlegar, corporate sponsors, members and donations.
