Ok everyone,
Im going to stick with our general rule when school is cancel so are we. Not all roads are clear, kids often make other arrangements on snow days, there are alot of kids out sick, with very low class numbers we will stay cancelled for today.
Please do some homework and work on your dances at home a couple times this week to keep them fresh in memory:) Most dances are already complete and the few that are not will be within the next 2 weeks. So we will have lots of time to review everything. Please be ready to work hard the last couple months as we show prep. There are still 4 nights in April and 4 nights in May, plus the makeup one in June, along with rehersal in June:)
See you next week! Be prepared to work extra hard these last couple months!

Hey everyone...
I work until 1:00 and was then going to update on dance classes.. its a tough call because in general if school is closed , we close too.. but weather seems to have stopped but looks like more snow coming around 6pm... I know kids make other arrangements for the day when school is cancelled too and then cant get to dance class.. Travellers do not generally show up either , so our group numbers are bound to be low tonight.
Please cast your vote below to help make the call: cancel or open
I dont mind showing up and reviewing things but its also hard when half the class is not there..
I will make the call by 1pm

Hello everyone:)
With schools dismissing early today, I am going to follow suit and cancel dance classes now for today. It sounds like its going to be very slippery with the freezing rain storm! I will have a make up class the first Wednesday in June, the 3rd, to make up for this cancelation.

Just a reminder, there is NO dance this week during March break!
Also, mark your calendars for June:)
Dress rehersal will be Saturday June 6th 2:00-6:00pm (more details to follow)
And...Sunday June 7th, Show will be at 2:00pm

Hey everyone!
We will be pizza partying tonight for our little Christmas party. I just wanted to post that everyone still comes at their reg class times. Teens and Adults will dance a little bit first (as their classes got cancelled last week due to snow storm) and party the last half of class:)

Dance starts today!!!! :)
Please bring your child to class times according to age below. We will be doing registration forms, having some fun and diving right into our first steps of their dances!
Wear comfy clothing and dont forget a water bottle. If you have tap shoes, please bring them as well. Looking forward to seeing you all tonight!
I would also like to share I am thankful to have instructor Emily back this year to teach some dances with me, share her talents and creativity and help make this year alot of fun!

3:00-3:30 Ages 3/4
3:30-4:15 Ages 5/6
4:15-5:15 Ages 7-9
5:30-6:30 Ages 10-12
6:30-7:30 Ages 13+
7:30-8:30 Adults

These times are TENATIVE for tonight, as it is very possible I will have to shuffle some kids around depending on registration numbers. This happens every year, and I will figure all that out tonight after registration is done. (For example 4:15 Kids may turn into Ages 7/8 and 5:30 Preteens 9/10) it all depends how many per class sign up! I do my best to keep dancers together from previous years but again, it all depends on numbers :)

Hey everyone,

I am excited for the upcoming dance season and wanted to share some information with the community.
Ideas for dances and songs have been forming in my mind and it's time to start putting them down on paper:) Having a sense of student numbers really helps with choreography, making of the dances, so I am looking for a quick head count.
Pre-register:
If you are interested in joining dance class this season please comment below your or your child's name and age. Wednesday, October 1st will be Registration night at the Taymouth Community Center. I will have forms there for everyone to fill out.
Dance classes run from October until the end of May, finishing with our performance on the big stage, date TBD. We do not have classes over Christmas and March break.
I look forward to seeing you all soon, kicking the dust off our shoes, moving our bodies and having some fun! :)

Hello Nashwaak Dance Academy!

Again, I want to say, what a FANTASTIC show you put on this year!! You all shined! We are so proud of you!!!👏

I just wanted to share some news with you, that Nashwaak Dance Academy WILL continue on this fall with Melissa!!

I have had the pleasure of working together with Shannon for the last 8 years with NDA.
We have created unforgettable memories and dance shows that i will always hold near and dear to my heart🥹 and we are ALL going to miss her so much!

I would like to continue instilling the love of dance, creativity and movement with our youth and community.
Please stay tuned for more details regarding Nashwaak Dance Academy 2025-2026
