Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to listen, learn, and reflect. We honour the survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the lasting impacts felt by Indigenous Peoples, families, and communities across Canada.

Reconciliation begins with truth. It asks us to acknowledge the past, take responsibility for our actions in the present, and commit to a better future together. Along that journey, forgiveness may hold a place for some, but it is a deeply personal path.

As we wear orange and reflect today, may we approach one another with humility, empathy, understanding, and a willingness to learn. Together, we can help build relationships rooted in respect, healing, and hope for future generations.
