Over six sessions, you’ll learn fundamental wet-felting techniques including fibre layouts, surface design using craters and cracks, embellishing with silk and other fabrics, and shaping both flat and sculptural forms. Whether you’re completely new to felting or have some experience and want to develop your skills and creativity, Megan will encourage you to experiment, explore and discover what wool can do. Come prepared to free your laughter, ideas and imagination!
Materials are provided. Please bring your own large bath towel, hand towel and a pair of sharp scissors.
Megan recently returned from Fiona Duthie’s Shetland Felting Retreat, where she joined fibre artists from around the world in an immersive exploration of Shetland’s landscapes, archaeological remains and distinctive cultural heritage. Guided by Fiona’s innovative approach to felting, Megan translated these experiences into her own design work.
