Some bittersweet news 💔❤️ This past Sunday was my last outdoor booth at the St. John's Farmers' Market.

Even though we will likely have good weather outdoors for another 2-3 weekends, unfortunately I have decided not to do any more OUTDOOR days on Saturday Farmer's Markets.

Over the past 8+ years of me doing outdoor Sat markets at SJFM (including even before they moved to their new location!), Sept used to be the busiest time of the year.

Despite offering designs pay-what-you-can/by donation, recent booth attendance has been the slowest of all time (in 8+ years). Very atypical of Sept.

The most popular age demographic at the markets who get henna tended to be those between the ages of 10-35 years. But I have noticed fewer younger people attending the markets. But attendance amongst older demographics is still very high.

And understandably, those feeling the biggest pinch in this economy are younger people. And I don't blame them at all, just the soul-sucking capitalists & fascists who've been tanking the economy.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

This weekend, Aug 23 & 24, I'll be at at St. David's Park

Henna has been used by humans across several continents since times immemorial. But henna usage only really became popular in NL since the 20th century.

Speaking of the middle ages, henna was used in medieval Mediterranean & other regions by Muslims, Christians & Jews.

They used henna for body adornment, headaches & muscle pains, poultice for burns & insect stings, etc.

I am the first artist in human history to offer henna artistry at some of the highest levels in Newfoundland (Ktaqmkuk).

✨You may find if interesting to learn that the Renaissance Festival NL will be the first in NL history to have some of the most challenging freehand henna available, such as realistic dragons, medieval art, etc.
