Evgenii Sakmarov is the founder and Music Director of the Orchestra “MTL”.
He earned his Doctorate in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Montreal under the guidance of Jean-François Rivest and Paolo Bellomia. He has held such positions as assistant conductor to Maestro Boris Brott of the Orchestra Classical of Montreal (OCM) and Orchestra Toronto, and has conducted orchestras in Canada and Europe, including the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.

He is recognized for his musicality, expressive interpretations, and contribution to the symphonic scene in Montreal.

He has taken part in masterclasses with celebrated conductors such as Neeme Järvi, Rafael Payare, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Boris Brott, Yuri Simonov, Yoav Talmi, Michael Newnham, Adrian McDonnell, Günther Stegmüller among others.

Evgenii Sakmarov est le fondateur et directeur musical de l’Orchestre « MTL ».
Il a obtenu son doctorat en direction d’orchestre à l’Université de Montréal sous la direction de Jean-François Rivest et Paolo Bellomia. Il a occupé les fonctions de chef assistant auprès du maestro Boris Brott à l’Orchestre Classique de Montréal (OCM) ainsi qu’à Orchestra Toronto, et a dirigé plusieurs orchestres au Canada et en Europe, notamment l’Orchestre philharmonique de Zagreb et l’Orchestre philharmonique de Monte-Carlo.

Il est reconnu pour sa musicalité, ses interprétations expressives et sa contribution à la scène symphonique montréalaise.

Il a également participé à des classes de maître avec des chefs d’orchestre renommés tels que Neeme Järvi, Rafael Payare, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Boris Brott, Yuri Simonov, Yoav Talmi, Michael Newnham, Adrian McDonnell et Günther Stegmüller, entre autres.
