In partnership with Letterboxd and the Indigenous Screen Office, we’re highlighting five recent Canadian Indigenous feature films, each paired with a classic title that reflects the rich legacy and evolution of Indigenous cinema in Canada.

In celebration of Canada’s National Indigenous Peoples Day, Leo Koziol highlights five richly rewarding recent Canadian Indigenous features, paired with an older title to highlight the heritage of national Indigenous cinema. https://boxd.it/3cW

Bold, funny, and unapologetically real, Bare heads to Cannes as part of the 2026 Not Short on Talent cohort.

Directed by Miranda MacDougall and Lucy McNulty, and written by and starring Claire Johnstone, this witty Canadian short explores modern dating, body image, and self-confidence with honesty, humour, and heart.

Set around an aquafit class and its unforgettable group of senior women, Bare challenges on-screen representations of aging female bodies while celebrating vulnerability and self-love at every age.

🎬 Screening at the Short Film Corner Video Library during the festival.
