voodoo Sankofa present to you La fleur du desert 🏜️-
Like desert flowers, blooming in conditions that were never meant to sustain them,
roots deep, holding memory, holding ground, bending into arches under heat and pressure but never breaking, turning scarcity into form, into beauty, into life.
Being the darkskin African diasporic artist you want to see from the vision- to the creation- to the exhibition- Self-made w/the blessing of the ancestors my foremother’s

So when I step on the floor, I carry their discipline, their grace, their restraint, their fire —
all the unseen labor it takes to remain whole where you are constantly tested.
I don’t walk alone. I move like something grown through drought and still reaching toward light.
I am not exceptional.
I am what happens when they refuse to disappear - Gifted and African .

By mixing fashion, music, dance and performance, "For the Culture" kikk ball is an ode to the models of representation in the popular culture of disco, hip hop, dancehall, pop,hous and film everything that q***r and trans POC & black people have influenced and created !

📢All contestants must bring an inspirational photo to show the judges while they get their 10's (tens).📢

CATEGORIES ARE :

1•Best Dress (prize: $200 + trophy)•

🪄🪡🪄Show up with a street style look inspired by Caribbean carnival cultures: Rasta, Reggae, Soca or Dancehall.

2•Performance tag-team (prize: $300 + trophy)•

👸🏿🤴🏿Create a look as a tribute to a DUO in hip-hop culture that changed the course of history.

3•Runway as a House (prize: $450 + trophy)•

👡👞👠Pay tribute to an iconic TRIO of pop culture (music, film, anime, etc.).
Showcase the fashion and aesthetic of the category.

4•Face (prize: $200 + trophy)•
