Part II- From the runway to the glazed paper

Like desert flowers, blooming in conditions that were never meant to sustain them,
roots deep, holding memory, holding ground, bending into arches under heat and pressure but never breaking, turning scarcity into form, into beauty, into life.
Being the darkskin African diasporic artist you want to see from the vision- to the creation- to the exhibition- Self-made w/the blessing of the ancestors my foremother’s
So when I step on the floor, I carry their discipline, their grace, their restraint, their fire —
all the unseen labor it takes to remain whole where you are constantly tested.
I don’t walk alone. I move like something grown through drought and still reaching toward light.
I am not exceptional.
I am what happens when they refuse to disappear - Gifted and African .
