Claire Sanford // Cinematographer Based in Montreal, Canada, Claire Sanford is a cinematographer working in documentary, fiction and branded content.

Claire Sanford is a cinematographer and documentary filmmaker with a focus on visually stunning, character driven factual content exploring environmental and social themes. Having earned her BFA in Film Production from the School for the Contemporary Arts at Simon Fraser University in 2009, she currently resides in Montreal where she works as a director of photography on documentary and narrative

projects, as well as branded content with a focus on social entrepreneurship, not-for-profit organizations and education. Claire has also spent several years working in the factual television industry on shows for the Discovery Channel including Dangerous Flights, Jacked, License to Drill, Pyros and Mega Moves. An avid traveler and adventurer, Claire’s work has taken her around the globe. She has recently earned her ticket in scuba diving and is developing the skills for producing and shooting underwater content. Vimeo Links

Happy to share a charming review of Violet Gave Willingly by Clean Break Film Festival!

“Deborah’s art has a scientific component - formerly an electrical engineer, she describes colour as electromagnetic energy. “It’s an important filter to see the world and connect to emotions.” “Can you describe your emotions?” asks Claire. “NO” they both laugh – this is familiar mother/daughter territory. “Now you have to put that down” (the camera) requests Deborah, but Claire doesn’t!”
