On this Indigenous Peoples Day, we honour the stories that illuminate truth, resilience, and the ongoing fight for justice. Among them is the powerful legacy of Jordan River Anderson, whose life continues to inspire meaningful change across this country.

As our show JORDAN embarks on a national tour this year, it carries with it a call to confront the truths that Indigenous communities have long voiced, and a reminder that real reconciliation begins with listening.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share JORDAN’s message with even more communities, and we remain committed to uplifting Indigenous voices, artists, and perspectives through the work we create for young people and their families.

Still thinking about all those knock‑knock jokes… because it’s been TWO months since Snow White opened at Centaur Theatre Company!

We absolutely loved bringing this whimsical, heartfelt show to the stage, and are still blown away by how many of you came to see it and gave us such great feedback afterwards.

Seeing kids laughing at all the knock-knock jokes and the great physical comedy our actors Tiernan and Jeremy brought to their performances was an absolute highlight of this year's Mainstage for us.

We hope the magic, the images, and the joy stayed with you too.

Two artistic directors, one enduring mission.

Elsa Bolam, founder of Geordie and the theatre's first artistic director, was one of our special honourees at this year's Showtime Cabaret fundraiser, and with our milestone 45th season closing, we couldn't help but think about legacy and continuity.

Elsa founded Geordie Theatre in 1980 to address a lack of meaningful theatre experiences for young people in Québec's anglophone communities.

In 2026, it's Jimmy Blais who steers the ship artistically, and, 45 seasons later, the world might have changed, but Geordie's mission stays the same: meeting young people where they're at. Telling stories that spark imagination, conversation, and recognition. And bringing people together to experience something magical that will stay with them.

Theatre is for everyone.

For 45 seasons, Geordie has believed in representation that lets young people see themselves fully, authentically, and unapologetically. We proudly support and foster diversity in all its forms, because creativity can’t exist without it.

With June being Pride Month and National Indigenous History Month, we want to honour every story: loud, quiet, questioning, joyful, and everything in between.

Here’s to the artists, the youth, the allies, and everyone finding their voice.

A horse has a crush. His jockey is stressed. Race day is coming fast.

That’s the starting line for HORSEPLAY—a wildly funny, wonderfully strange, and unexpectedly emotional story about friendship, loyalty, and growing up.

What begins as absurd comedy turns into something much deeper: a story about being truly known, and what happens when the person who’s always been by your side may not be able to stay there forever.

Written by Kole Durnford and directed by Micheline Chevrier, HORSEPLAY is part of our new series Geordie After Dark, which marks a shift in how we create and share theatre with teens: it’s no longer about being brought to a performance, but about choosing to be there.

HORSEPLAY will be presented at the Segal Centre for Performing Arts in March 2027.

What happens when graffiti, quantum physics, and an unexpected friendship collide?

In Hooligan Theory, Madison is a teen obsessed with science and creating art that matters. Riley is a fearless graffiti writer with instincts Madison can’t quite understand, but can’t ignore either.

As their worlds collide through late-night tagging adventures, quantum physics, and the pressures of everyday life, an unexpected friendship forms. But trust is fragile, and choices have consequences.

Written by Sarah Danielle Pitman—whose Beyond Belief moved audiences during last season's 2Play Tour—and directed by Dean Fleming, Hooligan Theory explores friendship, privilege, class, activism, and what it means to truly be seen.

The show will tour schools across Eastern Canada as part of our 2Play Tour starting in September.

What if every object held a story?

In Nohkom’s Knick-Knacks, Abby is helping pack up her late Nohkom’s belongings before her family moves when a very unexpected companion appears: Mugz, a crusty stuffed lemur who believes every object has a story to tell.

What follows is a funny, imaginative, and deeply heartfelt journey through grief, Cree family memory, and love.

Written and directed by Barry Bilinsky, this magical production tours to schools as part of our 2Play Tour, starting in September.
