I know some of you are thinking of BUYING a living being as a (Easter) gift, but that is a baaaad, very bad idea. They are years and years of commitment and care and money spent.

➡️Rabbits, unlike people think, live for 10-12 years and more.
➡️ They ARE NOT appropriate pets for kids.
➡️They need constant check ups at the vet, at least a room to hop/run/smug around in, that is alllll bunny-proofed with no wires, big objects they can jump on and fall, etc.
➡️They need unlimited hay all day long and a limited quantity of fresh veggies (specific ones).
➡️They have very sensitive bones and stomach so forget about picking them up (even their momma never pick them up as babies), and you’ll always need to check their eating habits are constant. If any change, you’ll need to immediately force-feed them or else they can die.
➡️Oh, also extreme heat (27C or more) is dangerous for them as well and can be mortal.

So, how in a hurry are you to get a living being as a gift now?
And if you still are because you know you will do everything to properly take care of them, then please, ADOPT, don’t shop. No need to encourage the birth of new living beings when there are so many with no home already! ✌️
