On June 20, for its first edition, the 8th Fire Gala turned out to be a remarkable success! More than 120 people from the arts and corporate sectors attended this benefit event.

The objective of the Gala was to raise funds to support Sacred Fire Productions and the Ashukan Cultural Space, a unique cultural incubator created for the (re)vitalization and (re)appropriation of Indigenous cultures and practices by directly supporting Indigenous artists.

Sacred Fire Productions, a not-for-profit organization, plays a leading role in the development of Indigenous arts in Quebec. Founded in 2012, SFP promotes Indigenous arts, artists and cultures through the production of numerous cultural events that raise awareness, deconstruct stereotypes and foster intercultural dialogues.

During the Gala du 8e Feu-Gala of the 8th Fire, guests will attend an authentic and intoxicating show that mixes tradition with modernity.
The experience will be enriched by the spirit of the singing and the energy of the drum thanks to the Buffalo Hat Singers, a group of contemporary powwow singers.
You will also have the opportunity to see perform an award-winning traditional dancers, the Sinquah Family Dance (a family trio of Sampson Sinquah, Scott and Moontee Sinquah). These artists directly coming from Arizona are excellent Hoop Dancers who also perform several traditional dances including the “Men's Fancy War and Men's Grass”.

Le samedi 17 juin à 19:00 à la Place Royale du Vieux-Montréal se tiendra un spectacle unique en son genre aux 5e Rendez-Vous Des Arts Métissés, présenté par Florent Vollant avec ses invités Zachary Richard- Official et Vincent Vallières, avec Maten en première partie.

Cet événement sera le point culminant de notre événement phare, qui cette année a pour titre "La réconciliation par les arts", où la rencontre entre artistes autochtones et allochtones est encouragée. Together, let’s light the 8th Fire at the Gala du 8e Feu!

Do you know about the story of the 8th Fire? Aboriginal Elders tell of a world that is divided into 7 stories, 7 Sacred Fires. Each of these Fires represents a stage in humanity and a traditional teaching. With its origins that stem from the various Aboriginal cultures and nations, the story says that at the 8th and last Fire, nations from all 4 corners of the world will have the chance to unite and restore the balance.

Right now, we are the 7th Fire generation. Humanity must therefore understand the importance of the 7 Scared Fires and choose between two paths: that of greed and of division, or that of respect for Life and unity. If they chose the latter, all nations will, in solidarity, light the 8th Fire and live in a world of peace, harmony and respect.

We believe that the time has finally come to fulfill the prophecy.

Ensemble, au Gala du 8e Feu, allumons le 8e Feu!

Connaissez-vous l’histoire du 8e Feu ? Il est dit par les aînés autochtones que le monde est divisé en 7 récits, 7 Feux sacrés. Chacun de ces Feux représente une étape de l’humanité et un enseignement traditionnel. Issue des différentes cultures et peuples autochtones, l’histoire raconte qu’au 8e et dernier Feu, les peuples issus des 4 coins de la Terre auront la possibilité de s'unir et de restaurer l'équilibre.

Nous sommes présentement la génération du 7e Feu. L’Humanité doit donc comprendre l’importance des 7 Feux sacrés et choisir entre deux voies : celle de l’avidité et de la division ou celle du respect pour la Vie et de l’union. S’ils le choisissent, les peuples pourront, solidairement, allumer le 8e Feu et vivre dans un monde de paix, de concorde et de respect.

Nous croyons que le temps est enfin venu de réaliser la prophétie.
