In addition to ensuring the proper functioning of rental equipment, the camera technician is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of their department’s processes. They work closely with the senior camera technician as well as other members of the camera department.

Hier soir, c'était MTL Filmmaking 2. Une excellente soirée de rencontres au cœur de la communauté cinéma montréalaise.

On était là avec Anne-Sophie et Paul du département caméra, pour conseiller et répondre aux questions techniques, en partenariat avec Luis Seijas et SLA Location.

Nous avions deux setups à essayer :
- Alexa 35 + Atlas Mercury sur un Ronin 2, pilotable avec des NODO wheels et une station de focus
- Lumix S1 II + Petzvalux sur le doorway dolly de SLA, où tout le monde pouvait prendre place et opérer la caméra

Des moments comme ça rappellent à quel point on est chanceux d'évoluer dans un milieu aussi passionné, entouré de gens qui vivent le cinéma au quotidien.

Merci à Rémi Diana (), fondateur de l'événement, pour cette très belle initiative. Hâte d'assister à la prochaine édition !

Last night was MTL Filmmaking 2. An excellent evening of connections at the heart of Montreal's film community.

We were there with Anne-Sophie and Paul from the camera department, offering advice and answering technical questions, in partnership with Luis Seijas and SLA Location.

We had two setups to try:
- Alexa 35 + Atlas Mercury on a Ronin 2, remote-piloted with NODO wheels and a wireless focus station
- Lumix S1 II + Petzvalux on SLA's doorway dolly, where anyone could step in and operate the camera

Moments like these are a reminder of how lucky we are to work in such a passionate industry, surrounded by people who live and breathe cinema every day.

Cette année, nos caméras, nos salles de postproduction et notre savoir-faire ont pris part à plusieurs histoires qui seront présentées au Festival du nouveau cinéma - FNC

It’s a wrap on TIFF Market what an incredible few days!!

This year, 6 films we worked on were at TIFF: 4 feature films and 2 shorts. Hearing how much that resonated with people in Toronto made us pretty proud.

We got to be there for the premieres of The Ultra Runner, Still Night, Burning House and Where the River Begins, and to celebrate with many of the filmmakers and crews behind them.

So good to see old friends, meet new ones, and spend a few days surrounded by people who care deeply about cinema. It was a beautiful whirlwind of films, conversations and happy faces.

And congratulations again to Two-gun Cohen by Johnnie To, winner of the Cineground Post-Production Award, with an honourable mention for The Pageant -Dean Namilligan & Ramsey Fendall.

Clap de fin pour TIFF Market — quelques jours intenses à Toronto !

Cette année, 6 films sur lesquels nous avons travaillé étaient présentés à TIFF : 4 longs métrages et 2 courts. Une vraie fierté de voir autant de projets Cineground au festival.

Nous avons aussi eu la chance d’assister à plusieurs premières, de retrouver de vieux amis, d’en rencontrer de nouveaux et de partager de beaux moments avec celles et ceux qui font vivre le cinéma.

Nous sommes fiers d'annoncer que “Donde comienza el río” a été sélectionné au Festival international du film de Toronto (TIFF) 2026 (), où il sera présenté en première mondiale. Le film suit une jeune mère autochtone, sa fille et un jeune membre de gang qui fuient la violence de Bogotá pour entreprendre un voyage au cœur du fleuve Andágueda, où seule la jungle décidera de leur destin.

Chez Cineground, nous avons eu le privilège de réaliser le montage (offline) et l'étalonnage du film. C'est toujours un immense plaisir d'accompagner des œuvres en postproduction, et plus encore lorsqu'elles connaissent une première mondiale sur une scène aussi prestigieuse que le TIFF ⭐️

We're proud to share that “Donde comienza el río” has been selected for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2026, where it will have its world premiere. The film follows a young Indigenous mother, her daughter, and a young gang member fleeing the violence of Bogotá on a journey deep into the Andágueda River, where the jungle alone will decide their fate.

At Cineground, we had the privilege of handling the film's (offline) editing and color grading. It's always a pleasure to support films through post-production, especially when they go on to premiere on a stage like TIFF ⭐️
