Ballets Jazz Montréal, c’est une histoire québécoise qui se poursuit depuis plus de 50 ans.

Au fil des décennies, la compagnie s’est produite dans plus de 60 pays et continue de faire rayonner la culture québécoise à travers le monde.

Depuis plus de 10 ans, elle présente également Dance Me – Musique de Léonard Cohen, une œuvre inspirée de l’univers du célèbre artiste né à Westmount, à Montréal. Autorisé et encouragé de son vivant par Léonard Cohen, ce projet a malheureusement vu le jour après son décès. Nous sommes profondément honoré·e·s d’avoir pu faire voyager son héritage, son nom et sa musique à travers le monde pendant toute une décennie.

L’identité québécoise est au cœur de tout ce que nous faisons. Année après année, des artistes venus des quatre coins du globe choisissent de rejoindre BJM, de vivre à Montréal et de porter sur les scènes du monde entier le nom d’une compagnie profondément ancrée dans sa culture et sa communauté.

En cette Fête nationale du Québec, toute l’équipe de Ballets Jazz Montréal souhaite une excellente Saint-Jean à ses abonné·e·s, partenaires et ami·e·s québécois·es.

Nous avons déjà hâte de vous retrouver à Montréal pour les dernières représentations de Dance Me – Musique de Léonard Cohen, du 25 au 28 novembre 2026.

Ballets Jazz Montréal is a Québec story that has been unfolding for more than 50 years.

Over the decades, the company has performed in more than 60 countries and continues to share Québec culture with audiences around the world.

For more than 10 years, it has also presented Dance Me – Music by Leonard Cohen, a work inspired by the world of the celebrated artist born in Westmount, Montréal. Approved and encouraged by Leonard Cohen during his lifetime, the project unfortunately came to life after his passing. We are deeply honoured to have carried his legacy, his name, and his music across the globe for an entire decade.

Québec identity is at the heart of everything we do. Year after year, artists from around the world choose to join BJM, make Montréal their home, and carry the name of a company deeply rooted in its culture and community onto stages across the globe.

On this Québec National Holiday, the entire Ballets Jazz Montréal team wishes a wonderful Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day to our Québec subscribers, partners, and friends.

Marcel, Miu et Damond ont profondément marqué leur passage à Ballets Jazz Montréal par leur talent, leur générosité et leur engagement artistique.

Leur chapitre au sein de la compagnie prend fin pour laisser place à de nouvelles aventures, dans d’autres villes, d’autres pays et même d’autres continents.

Nous avons eu le privilège de les compter parmi nous pendant plusieurs saisons et, bien que leur départ nous attriste, nous sommes heureux de les voir poursuivre leur parcours et relever de nouveaux défis.

Nous connaissons l’étendue de leur talent et sommes convaincu·e·s que leur rayonnement continuera de se faire sentir bien au-delà de nos studios et de nos scènes.

Merci, Marcel. Merci, Damond. Merci Miu.

Nous vous souhaitons le meilleur pour la suite, avec l’espoir que nos chemins se croiseront à nouveau.

Marcel, Damond and Miu have left a lasting mark on their time with Ballets Jazz Montréal through their talent, generosity, and artistic dedication.

Zoey Anderson, Danseuse
🩰 : Danse contemporaine, ballet et danse de salon

Originaire de l’Utah, Zoey Anderson se forme au Center Stage Studio avant d’obtenir un BFA du Marymount Manhattan College à New York. Elle rejoint ensuite Parsons Dance pendant plus de dix ans et interprète des œuvres de David Parsons et Robert Battle sur des scènes du monde entier. Au cours de sa carrière, elle reçoit notamment le Clive Barnes Dance Artist Award en 2019 et est nommée aux Bessie Awards dans la catégorie « Meilleure interprète ». Elle rejoint BJM pour la saison 2025-2026.

Sa première rencontre avec BJM se fait à travers deux amis danseurs de la compagnie. Lors de son audition, elle est immédiatement marquée par l’artistry des interprètes et l’esprit de générosité qui règne au sein du groupe. Depuis son arrivée, elle apprécie particulièrement l’occasion de réunir sur scène ses deux passions, la danse et le chant, à travers Dance Me – Musique de Léonard Cohen.

À l’extérieur du studio, Zoey aime chanter, voyager, enseigner le yoga sculpt et passer du temps près de l’eau. Passionnée de mode, elle trouve aussi son bonheur en Italie auprès de sa famille.

Zoey Anderson, Dancer

Originally from Utah, Zoey Anderson trained at Center Stage Studio before earning a BFA from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. She then joined Parsons Dance for more than a decade, touring internationally and dancing works by David Parsons and Robert Battle. Throughout her career, she received the Clive Barnes Dance Artist Award in 2019 and was nominated for a Bessie Award for Outstanding Performer. She joined BJM for the 2025-2026 season.

Her first encounter with BJM came through two close friends who danced with the company. During her audition, she was immediately struck by the artistry of the dancers and the generosity that defines the company. Since joining BJM, she has particularly enjoyed the opportunity to combine her two passions, dance and singing, through Dance Me – Music by Leonard Cohen.

Outside the studio, Zoey enjoys singing, travelling, teaching yoga sculpt, and spending time by the water. A fashion enthusiast, she also finds great joy in Italy with her family.

Jasmine Heart Cruz, Danseuse
🩰 : Danse contemporaine et ballet

Originaire de San Francisco, en Californie, Jasmine commence sa formation à la Westlake School for the Performing Arts. Après une année à la Glorya Kaufman School of Dance de l’University of Southern California, elle s’installe à New York où elle danse pendant trois saisons avec Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Ensuite, comme artiste indépendante, elle collabore notamment avec Roderick George, Rena Butler, Loughlan Prior et Houston Thomas. Elle rejoint BJM pour la saison 2025-2026.

Sa première rencontre avec BJM a lieu lors d’une audition en 2022. Depuis son arrivée dans la compagnie, elle apprécie particulièrement l’équilibre entre soutien et dépassement de soi offert par ses pairs. Elle garde également un souvenir marquant de la récente tournée en France, riche en moments partagés sur scène et en dehors.

À l'extérieur du studio, Jasmine aime cuisiner, découvrir de nouvelles musiques, lire et écrire. Elle accorde aussi beaucoup d’importance au temps passé avec ses proches.

Originally from San Francisco, California, Jasmine began her training at the Westlake School for the Performing Arts. After one year at the Glorya Kaufman School of Dance at the University of Southern California, she moved to New York and danced for three seasons with Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Then, as a freelance artist, she has collaborated with choreographers including Roderick George, Rena Butler, Loughlan Prior, and Houston Thomas. She joined BJM for the 2025-2026 season.

Her first encounter with BJM came during an audition in 2022. Since joining the company, she has particularly appreciated the balance of support and artistic challenge offered by her peers. She also holds fond memories of the recent tour in France, filled with meaningful moments on and off stage.

Outside the studio, Jasmine enjoys cooking, discovering new music, reading, and journaling. She also deeply values spending time with family and friends.

Originaire de Markham, en Ontario, Troy commence sa formation en danse dans le milieu compétitif avant de rejoindre le Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre en 2021. Il poursuit ensuite son parcours à Vancouver au sein du programme postsecondaire d’Arts Umbrella sous la direction d’Artemis Gordon, où il interprète des œuvres de Crystal Pite, Aszure Barton, Marco Goecke, Mats Ek et William Forsythe, entre autres. Il développe aussi son intérêt pour la chorégraphie grâce au Young Choreographers Mentorship Project dirigé par Crystal Pite.

Sa première rencontre avec BJM remonte à la visite de deux artistes de la compagnie dans son école. Son parcours au sein de BJM, en tant que stagiaire avec la bourse Caroline Charron pour sa première année, lui permet aujourd’hui d’explorer différentes facettes du métier d’artiste et de mieux définir l’interprète qu’il souhaite devenir.

En dehors du studio, Troy s’intéresse à la mode, à la photographie et à l’écriture, qu’il considère comme des extensions naturelles de sa créativité.

Troy Atamanuk, Dancer

Originally from Markham, Ontario, Troy began his dance training in the competitive scene before joining the Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre in 2021. He later continued his training in Vancouver through Arts Umbrella’s post-secondary program under the direction of Artemis Gordon, where he performed works by Crystal Pite, Aszure Barton, Marco Goecke, Mats Ek, and William Forsythe, among others. He also explored choreography through the Young Choreographers Mentorship Project led by Crystal Pite.

His first encounter with BJM came when two company dancers visited his school. Beginning his journey with the company as an intern through the Caroline Charron Internship Program, he has had the opportunity to explore different facets of the profession and gain a deeper understanding of the artist he aspires to become.

Outside the studio, Troy is passionate about fashion, photography, and writing, which he sees as natural extensions of his creativity.

In just a few days, the 12th and 13th of June, our artists will take the stage in Houston before a short summer break, followed by a return to Germany this August.

Millie Brinck-Dubuc, Danseuse

Originaire de Montréal, Millie débute sa formation dans un studio compétitif avant d’intégrer l’ École supérieure de ballet du Québec, où elle étudie le ballet classique et la danse contemporaine. Diplômée en 2022, elle poursuit sa pratique à travers plusieurs stages intensifs, dont Big Bang, Rubberband, TransFormation et Orsolina28. Elle rejoint Ballets Jazz Montréal en 2024 comme première artiste du programme de stages Caroline Charron, une initiative de mentorat vers le milieu professionnel.

Ayant grandi à Montréal, Millie découvre d’abord BJM comme spectatrice avant de rejoindre la compagnie. Son expérience au sein de BJM lui permet d’apprendre auprès de multiples artistes et de partager la scène avec des interprètes qui l’inspirent.

En dehors du studio, Millie aime lire, cuisiner et pratiquer la photographie. Toujours partante pour une soirée jeux ou cinéma, elle accorde aussi une grande importance aux moments passés avec ses proches.

Originally from Montréal, Millie began her training in a competitive studio before joining the École supérieure de ballet du Québec, where she studied classical ballet and contemporary dance. After graduating in 2022, she continued her practice through several intensives, including Big Bang, Rubberband, TransFormation, and Orsolina28. She joined Ballets Jazz Montréal in 2024 as the first artist of the Caroline Charron Internship Program, a mentorship initiative supporting emerging dancers entering the professional world.

Growing up in Montréal, Millie first discovered BJM as an audience member before joining the company herself. Her experience with BJM allows her to learn from a variety of artists and perform alongside inspiring dancers.

Outside of the studio, Millie enjoys reading, cooking, and photography. She’s always up for a game night or a movie night, and she also places great importance on spending time with her loved ones.

Notre directrice artistique, Alexandra Damiani, a été invitée à concevoir la chorégraphie et assurer la direction artistique d’une performance présentée lors du gala de la Hood Foundation à New York qui rassemble 3000 personnes afin de lever 73 millions de $US.

Pour cette occasion, 5 artistes de BJM ont rejoint plus de 30 danseur·se·s et chanteur·se·s d’opéra parmi les meilleurs talents de la scène new-yorkaise.

Cette invitation représentait une belle opportunité de faire rayonner l’expertise artistique de BJM dans un contexte événementiel et philanthropique international.

Une collaboration qui témoigne du dialogue constant entre création, excellence artistique et rayonnement culturel à l’international.

Our Artistic Director, Alexandra Damiani, was invited to choreograph and direct a performance presented at the Robin Hood Foundation gala in New York City.

For this special occasion, 5 BJM artists joined more than 30 dancers and opera singers among New York’s top performing talents.

This invitation represented a meaningful opportunity to showcase BJM’s artistic expertise within an international philanthropic and event context.

A collaboration that reflects the ongoing dialogue between creation, artistic excellence, and international cultural outreach.
