In addition to its customized conversation courses for adults, 3E is offering two standard courses this semester. Contact us for more information (general description below).

Piccoli Lettori -- children aged 5 - 12 years old
This online course (blended: synchronous and asynchronous) introduces young readers to the Italian alphabet and the sounds it makes. Through a series of reading and listening comprehension and oral production activities designed especially for non-native speakers of Italian, students will acquire a basic Italian vocabulary and learn how to use rudimentary grammar structures (like articles, prepositions, and verbs in the present and past tense). They will also learn standard Italian pronunciation. 10 asynchronous online lessons + 10 hours of customized, synchronous support.

Advanced Reading Course -- adults with intermediate level of Italian or higher
This course offers both a review of (or introduction to) advanced-level grammar structures, and a discussion of the role of the intellectual during and after the Second World War in Italy. It includes 17 guided readings to 4 Italian books (asynchronous) plus 17 hours of synchronous class time dedicated entirely to oral production.

We like to use fall word lists and exercises to teach and then consolidate the formation of plural nouns, the use of indefinite articles, and the use of "c'è" and "ci sono" ('there is' and 'there are' respectively). See? It all goes hand in hand.
