After a thrilling Monday performing The Lyre's Dream in the Canadian Senate Chamber, we are looking forward to presenting this beautiful music from Ancient Greece to the public this evening at Rosemount High School, 3737 Beaubien St. E. at 7 p.m. Free admission. Joining us will be Dr. Nikos Xanthoulis from Greece on the lyre, a chamber ensemble and soloists Maria Diamantis and Dimitris Ilias, producer of the project. Kudos to our choristers, conductor Marie-Eve Arseneau, and well-deserved thanks to our accompanist, Anne-Marie Denoncourt, for her key support in helping us learn this music since the fall.

The EMSB Chorale mourns the sudden loss of friend and conductor Bob Bachelor, founder and inspiring leader of The Lyric Theatre Singers. Our collaborations over the years were always joyful highlights in a season. Several of our alumni were inspired to continue their musical journey under Bob's direction. Our own music team (Pat, Marie-Eve and Anne-Marie) also worked for many years with Bob at the CAMMAC Music Centre. We send our sincere condolences to all our friends in The Lyric Theatre Singers and to all the musicians who worked with him. He will be sorely missed.

So proud of our EMSB Chorale members who did a stellar job on Saturday evening at Christ Church for the Earth Hour concert, as did our hosts, the Choeur des enfants de Montréal and the Ottawa Catholic School Board Choir. We are grateful to CEM for organizing this annual event, and it is always delightful to sing with both these wonderful choirs. Hearing almost 200 young people singing beautiful, sophisticated music together is magic!

We are looking forward to performing this coming Saturday, March 28, in the Earth Hour concert at Christ Church Cathedral. This annual event, hosted by the Choeur des enfants de Montréal, is always a magical evening as the choirs perform by candlelight. Joining us again will be the Ottawa Catholic School Board Choir. The EMSB Chorale invites you to its annual Holiday Concert, Saturday, December 6 at 4 p.m. at Christ Church Cathedral downtown (Ste-Catherine St. W. / Robert-Bourassa). No tickets required. We will gratefully take donations at the door, a portion of which will be donated to the Salvation Army’s Christmas campaign. Conductor Marie-Eve Arseneau has prepared a program guaranteed to put joy, peace and love in your heart. With our 100 choristers aged 8 to 17, Anne-Marie Denoncourt at the piano and the Salvation Army Citadel Band.

La Chorale de la commission scolaire English-Montréal (EMSB Chorale) vous invite à son concert des Fêtes, le samedi 6 décembre à 16h à la cathédrale Christ Church (Ste-Catherine O., angle Robert-Bourassa). Entrée libre, dons à la porte. Une partie des dons sera versée à la campagne de Noël de l’Armée du Salut. Another productive and fun weekend with the EMSB Chorale, this time at Junior Fall Camp! We are almost ready for our Holiday Concert. Come hear us December 6 at 4 p.m. at Christ Church Cathedral downtown Montreal. No tickets required - donation at the door. The Junior and Senior Chorales under the direction of Marie-Arseneau are accompanied by Anne-Marie Denoncourt. Special guests: the Salvation Army Citadel Band.

Backstage and on stage at the Maison symphonique on November 9 for our third performance of the weekend of Carmina Burana with the Orchestre philharmonique et Choeur des mélomanes. Thank you and congratulations to the brilliant young conductor Francis Choiniere, a FACE School (EMSB) graduate, who also conducted Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring in the first half. Impressive and grandiose! Kudos to chorale conductor Marie-Eve Arseneau and our faithful pianist Anne-Marie Denoncourt for the excellent musical preparation. Le Devoir music critic Christophe Huss noted that the youth choir gave a solid performance! Coming soon: our annual Holiday Concert December 6, 4 pm, at Christ Church cathedral.
