charge up your speaker and coast away to four hours of new and old music, led off by an absolute force of a song from Crown Lands (podcast with Brad coming this week) and then a series of new tracks from Taylor Swift (this has been in my head all week), Olivia Rodrigo (damn she’s back), Jessie Reyez, and many others.

you thought this was going to be posted ahead of mothers dad!? Well, sometimes a baby comes late and you know who rolls with the punches? Moms. Besides, we should celebrate our moms EVERY DAY, and every week. So while life didn’t have room for this post last week, may this playlist be a shoutout to my moms and all the great moms that are part of the chain family .d.n .e.hamilton05

WELCOME BACK to chain46
After a little mix up with the dates and a reset, we are back on our Saturday releases!
We’ve got a bit of everything in this playlist and so I’ll let it sing for itself 🙂 four hours of fun songs to bring on the warm weather 🌞
it’s good to be back in action and can’t wait to hear more of what everyone’s listing to over the next few volumes. Keep passing the chain on, and be sure to let me know what you’re listening to
We’re celebrating the moms with 47 and then I expect with concert season we’re going to have a lot of fun new stuff coming out. The world needs it!

Some songs wear their faith openly. Others hide it in the ache, in the way a chorus reaches upward like a hand in the dark. This volume lives in that space — between prayer and performance, between halo and heartbreak, between the heaven we believe in and the one built from guitars, organs, choirs, and tears.

There is something beautiful about music that confesses. A devil at the door, a river that sounds like baptism, a sky full of spirits, a saint hiding in a pop song, a cry so deep it begins to sound devotional. These are songs for candlelight and stained glass, for losing faith and finding mystery, for anyone who has ever mistaken sorrow for revelation and revelation for sorrow.

Vol. 45 is for the holy and the haunted. For the choir in the static. For the chain between grief and grace.

Welcome back friends! This playlist was a lot fun to throw together. Although the days may still be cold, they are filled with sunlight, and the snow has turned to rain. Paddy’s day is here, it’s March Madness, and yesterday was the first day of Spring.

🌺 WE MADE IT 🎉

Spring is filled with new beginnings, and it’s striking to me how many sweet little new friends are around us ☺️ huge congratulations to and , and who quite recently welcomed them - and an anticipatory hooray to and for whom it’s any day now !! They inspired the cover (just hold up for vol. 47 when we shoutout moms) and a few of the tracks on this playlist.

Summer isn’t here yet, but the new Arkells single (in advance of the album - stay turned for the pod with is perfect for the theme - so much can change in a year, and I think there are very, very exciting things ahead of us 🙂🌼

On episode 21, I’m joined for the fourth time by to walk through the history and lore of Damon Albern’s groups Blur & Gorillaz before diving into the eighth album from the latter, The Mountain.
On The Mountain, both Damon and Jamie Hewlett recruit a series of collaborators to confront the deaths of their fathers. The heavily South-Asian influenced album deals with grief, loss, eastern religion and immediately joins the ranks of Gorillaz’s best records.

Did you know?? Protests by women workers in Petrograd on March 8, 1917 helped trigger the February Revolution. After A LOT of work, finally, in 1975, during the International Women’s Year, the United Nations recognized March 8 as International Women’s Day.

The Chain may not be as slow as the UN, but here we are a year too late recognizing the wonderful women who have helped make this project 👸🏻

THANK U .shep93 .woll .d.n and the many others who have submitted songs, joined me on podcasts, worn t-shirts, lifted me up, and just been great friends

⛓️ thanks also to for contributing to this one
