Designing the cable routing on the CyberSkull Apex was one of those problems that looked simple on paper - and absolutely wasn’t.
I knew from the start I wanted the cable to exit from the top of the skull. That Matrix plug-into-the-back-of-your-head energy. It had to look intentional. It had to look cool.
What followed was 6 iterations to solve three separate headaches: understanding how the cable flexes and moves every time the skull opens and closes, finding a way to accommodate multiple cable diameters, and figuring out how to thread the cable through without snapping the print.
Spoiler: like always, I overcomplicated it before finding the simplest solution possible.
The result gives users full freedom to route their cable exactly how they want inside the skull - and honestly? This might be my favorite design and cleanest print to date. I’m genuinely proud of this one.
